I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.

OK, I posted more on my blogs.... but when I woke up today I was 170.0 lbs on the scale. It is not my official weight because I use an average, and this will probably go back up a couple pounds tomorrow, but I am lovin it!
This was one of my first goals, so this is big to me. Even though I don't put any stock in the government's BMI, this is the point where I go from overweight to normal according to the government's BMI rating.
Whoooooo Hooooooo!!!!
There is more information on my blogs:

I just completed my second Half Ironman and hit my target of Sub 6 hours. Currently training for a Half Marathon (everything in halves) and then a tougher Half Ironman in December. I am wasting a lot of energy on these races carrying excess fat around the course. I know I would be faster if I was lighter. I have lost about 20lbs in last two years but still have maybe another 10 that could go.

August 2008--I am getting back on the wagon (again!). Wow, where to begin. Gave up on my progress big time in late May and then let life get in the way. Had my surgery on June 23rd (For Compartment Syndrome) and have been struggling since with delayed healing of the incisions. Anyhow, I have sat on my butt far too long and have let myself go again!!! I started back training this week, August 5th to be exact. I joined a Learn to Run program the same day to start conditioning my body to get back into running slowly as I am just 6 weeks post-op. Anyhow, I won't allow myself to be a slave to the scale this time around so my weigh-ins will be scattered. I know I can and will succeed this time around as I HATE feeling FAT!!! As my sister reminded me this summer, I don't have the height to carry off the weight so it has to go!!
___________________ Spring 2008 I love the challenges of working out and for the past two years I am in the gym 5 mornings a week before work faithfully.? Problem is I fall off the bandwagon diet wise and pack on the pounds ever so easily.? I have been back on the bandwagon since December 26th when I was 172.5 lbs :-(?? (joined traineo on Jan 1st)? I know what it feels like to feel skinny as I have been there before....I want that feeling back!!!? Plus I am going cruising in late Feb/early Mar and am determined to feel good again in a bikini!!!!Update... cruises are now over and I felt good in a bikini, had a great time and gained a few lbs from falling off the bandwagon and eating and drinking unhealthy :-( I realized after 18 days of vacation that I missed my routine, healthy eating and I want it back.? I crave the high!!? I am back and determined to get my weight back in the mid 140lbs.

Thanks all!
Well, the next morning brought even lower... 169.6.... wow! I cannot believe it went down another day. I am sure it will head back up a bit which I am not concerned about, but two days in a row I am normal. Unbelievable!!!!
I too remember the day when I went from obese to overweight and how excited I was to be overweight. For those of you that have hit that point and know what I am talking about or those of you that have not yet..... you will do it!
You can all achieve what I have achieved, just be patient!! and don't get discouraged when things are going slow or don't seem to be happening at all, those times WILL come, and if you stick to it they WILL go and things will start happening again.
Keep it up!!

wow tim, that's awesome, but remember that you've been a success for a long time, and it's had little to do with the scale and everything to do with the fact you've been running so well.
