I spent my Sunday yesterday planning my Atlantic Rowing Challenge and piecing together all the parts of the puzzle. Already there have been loads of changes to the initial plan and something tells me there will be a few more twists along the way.

I have now finalised a team mate and got a boat organised at a good price. I've down sized my plans to do it as a 4 man team, down to a 2 man challenge which I think will be much tougher and so much more rewarding. It is so exciting!! Just 2,500 miles to go and we'll be there, ha ha.

All I need to do now is secure the sponsorship required for the challenge, and it doesn't look like it will be cheap either.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge in this area? Or could anyone assist with how/ who to approach to enquire about these things.

That must be pretty exciting. What a great accomplishment that would be. I wish I had some reccomendations for ya in regards to securing sponsorship, but I've never had any experience doing so. But just wanted to say good luck!

That's cool that you are getting the pieces put together! When will you guys get started?

The road to La Gomera has already begun though the race itself will begin in Dec 2009. It is just under 18 months away and that time is going to fly by!!

I'll be calling on you all to help with the fundraising once the new website is up and running and I'll be begging you all for support.

I may even design some products to help raise the funds. We'll see.

We are currently looking for a name for the boat guys! Can anyone help with suggestions?

I thought of 'Will of the Warrior' so far, but wasn't sure if this was too cheesy.

Was hoping to tie it into a theme and link it all in with a seminar after the challenge to help inspire others.

What do you think? Could be an excuse to catch up with some of you guys in America.
