My goal is to get down to 179lbs as soon as I can. I've met my first main goal which was 185lbs. I feel I could better maintain my weight if I were somewhere in between 179lbs and 185lbs.

I wanted to start this thread for those that need to vent or blow off some steam. I find it very helpful to vent a little and then get back on track.
This thread is not meant to fix anything -- just get things off your chest.

Hi Richard, nice idea!!!
I can't believe that I have cut out junk food and exercised every single day for a month now and I still haven't lost any weight or body fat or inches!!!!!
So annoying... I guess it takes a bit longer... gggrrrrrr....
Sigh... that helped a bit, thanks!!!

It pisses me off how people start a thread that they expect everybody else to contribute to but can't be arsed to add anything to themselves!!
What a joke!! Do they expect us to make up all the content for them?? For pete's sake!!!

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Quoting: rosanne Dean, are you being ironic on purpose??? If so, lol
Yes, it was a bit tongue in cheek, ha ha.
For some reasons I feel quite playful on a Friday and get mischeivous. Don't have a lot to whinge about so I thought I'd have some fun.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they haev to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is NOTHING.

People on the internet being wrong bugs me! j/k
Actually though, it drives me crazy when someone (online or otherwise) asks a question when they aren't willing to be open minded about the answer, then when people give them the answer they don't want they get all ornery and start adamantly defending their position and acting like we're a bunch of jerks for not agreeing with them in the first place.
Err... I guess I could have just said passive-aggressive people. Be one or the other, dont' half-ass them both!

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)

Has anyone ever experienced this:
I sometimes feel that I'm the only one that keeps a relationship afloat... no, not an intimate one, just with friends. I feel that I'm the only one going up and beyond to organize things, contact them to see how they are, etc. -- and frankly, sometimes I hate it! Are my friends too busy to call or contact me w/o asking me for something?! My family can sometimes get like that, (siblings especially -- now I know how my parents feel.)
I think it's sad... maybe they aren't true friends after all. I don't know, maybe I'm just selfish...

I am going on vacation, and I'm sick of having to prepare and pack for everyone else. Plus, I had to work twice as hard this week to prepare to take a vacation, knowing I'm still going to have twice the work waiting for me when I get back. It's almost not worth it.

That happens to me, Richard. Sometimes I feel as though if I didn't make any effort, I wouldn't have any contact w/anyone at all. And I've cut off contact w/others and have gone YEARS w/o speaking to them b/c of it. It all boils down to whether the relationship is worth the effort. But, I hear you...especially when they only contact you b/c they want something. That really sucks and makes you feel like crap *hugs* sorry you're experiencing that...

Good thread.. lets see what do I want to vent about today?... hrm....
Oh, ok.. I know.. I HATE that my doctor doesn't believe that I am working out and eating right and INSISTS that I am doing something wrong to not be able to lose weight... I am willing to accept ideas, suggestions as to other things I should try but hearing my PCP say "Well OBVIOUSLY you are STILL eating too much and are not working out enough"... Well OBVIOUSLY nothing! I understand some people aren't honest about this stuff but it's getting rediculous.
Also.. today to make things worse a doctor said "So.. how far can you walk before getting tired? 10 feet? 50 feet?" I was so offended... I just responded "I'm really not sure.. I run for 20 minutes fine and Jog quite a bit... I go up and down 6 flights of stairs 3 to 4 times a day... So I THINK i can handle 10 to 50 feet alright"... not exactly a compliment...
ok I do feel better now too.

Hey Richard... it's still OK to suck it up and throw the junk out! Or give it away to someone! Hard to do, but it could change things around.
At least think about it. Sometimes I have to eat some, realize how crappy it makes me start to feel and then I toss whatever is left.

Doctors can be a pain. Every time a doctor sees me, I just know they look at me and assume "fat person", probably diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc, etc, etc... while in fact, I have NONE of those problems and never have had those issues. And then, when I mention things like my shoulder that bugs me, they don't manage to SEE that I can't lift the one arm as high as the other. Those things, the things that really impact my life, apparently aren't important enough to do anything about. GROWL!
I'm beginning to think you need another doctor!

Venting! My friends are all wrapping up their terms and heading home while I have another month of projects and finals (damned trimesters). I have an exam on tuesday and on thursday and no time to sleep. I know I'll snack bc when I get less than 4 hours I just can't make it through the day on my usual amount of meals/calories. I hate not having enough time!!! Just give me 24 hours to crash and get over my cold and catch up on the past 3 weeks of not enough sleep and I'll be good to go through finals but that won't happen until June 3rd bc we never have downtime.
ok I feel slightly better and am going back to my chemistry.

I'm just an average guy who wants to live a healthy lifestyle and lose a few pounds along the way. My goal is to weigh at 200 lbs and maintain that weight (with my build i can't go under !). Traineo is a great place if you're motivated and i am.

ok it's my turn to vent !! i don't understand why I'm not losing more weight .. i eat healthy (and believe me ..there's no room for improvement here !!!) i work out regularly (everyday i do at least 2 sets of 20 pushups), i've been doing that for the last 2 months and the result is that i lost 10 lbs ....come on ..it's getting ridiculous if i eat more salad i'll turn into a rabbit ! I DO understand that i don't have a lot to lose (20 lbs) but i am overweight...
anyways it felt good thx
gotta go back to my fruits now!
good luck everyone

I slept horribly last night. Well, let me re-phrase, I slept fine, but I dreamed like a mad woman. I've been in a daze trying to sort things out this morning. I think I may need to go back to a doctor for this. It's just the one that I went to the 1st time appeared to not be able to care less about me or my sleep condition, and instead just wrote me a prescription that I threw away because I don't like the idea of becoming dependent on a drug for sleep.
My dreams are so real that I wake up and can't shake the feeling of guilt (did something bad in the dream), horror (something terrible happened in the dream), sadness, panic, ect.

Time to vent some steam...
OK... this 2 weeks I have 4 exams and 2 papers. Yes, it will be studying like crazy. And then on top of that, review sessions and this friend that keeps bugging me to play the piano to accompany her singing.
Well, first hurdle is here... today is my driving test and the car I am using has a mirror that could potentially drop off anytime. The owner's friend borrowed it and hit the mirror... I hope it won't affect my driving test. And that friend, a guy, was out till 3am, with the car and had 2 girls in his backseat. Now that sounds a little sketchy...

you might want to do more cardio exercise. push-ups aren't much of a fat burner.
there are lots of better suggestions out there, but i think that's a great place to start.
