Right now it's a tennis ball, as I have to work that big ole pooch of mine everyday, and a baseball would just be mean.

Plus, Hub is not terribley sports-minded, so it's a no-go playing proper catch with him using the baseball and gloves.

START COOKING!!!!! I bring a bag of food to work everyday, and have things at home - it's SO MUCH EASIER to eat healthy if you already have healthy choices picked out.

i misread "pooch" the first time, too, thinking she was talking about a gut.

i'm pretty sure she means dog, though, and that a tennis ball is better for catch and the dog's teeth.

no?

everyone in the world has the same amount of time per day, and cooking well is probably more important than many things you do.

cooking well will also open yourself up to better productivity than eating a poor diet, making the rest of your time more valuable.

prepare things like chicken salads and pita-stuffings on the weekends so you can take them with you to work or whatever.

Short-term:

Fix my groin problem so that I can continue to run
Get used to the rower
Find a cure for 'fed-up-ness'

Long-term:

Be the strongest guy in my gym
Be the fittest guy in my gym

Baseball teams are plenty hard to come by in France, let alone an organized-type league, heheh! No, I just have fun with my dog.

I had extra fun today as it was nearing the end of the session and he was starting to get tired, so I started lobbing the ball RIGHT at him for the last couple of minutes and quite enjoyed it. He's got such a bouncy, big fat nose.

well, you have choices. there's freedom from filth and unsanitary food and water, freedom from sickness (to an extent) because of decent medical coverage, or freedom from whatever tyrannical madness your government has you in bondage with. and really i doubt the latter is all that bad.

if you're up for dealing with the first two, though, i'll meet you in costa rica in november.

Okay...let me clarify. I don't cook. At all. I rarely even eat at home because I get home so late during the week and I'm hardly ever home on the weekends to sleep, let alone cook. Hmm...that's probably not a good thing that I don't get enough sleep.

But I have healthy things to eat at work nonetheless.

What kind of healthy things do you keep at work? I could always use new ideas on what to keep at work!

If you don't cook, buy a bunch of frozen dinners - eat them. At least you know what's going in your mouth that way.

I have FiberOne bars, low-sodium soups, tuna, wheat crackers, granola bars, fruit cups, craisins, oatmeal, brown rice cups, low fat pringles...

Some of everything, lol.

I'm thinking about getting some peanut butter too.

I currently have pretzels, a granola bar, a protein bar, 1/2 slice of bread, and a jar of peanut butter. I usually bring stuff from home every day though. I just had a spoonful of peanut butter actually. Yum!

My goal is to not eat the whole pound of beef jerky I bought last night in one sitting. My jerky and Cadbury Egg love is well known 'round these parts.

Short term (1 month):
1. Get back on track
2. run 5km + 3-4 x per week
3. weight train 3-4 x per week
4. Drink 64 oz water per day (this will be the biggest challenge!)
5. Obtain a Normal BMI (154 lb)
6. Try not to undo all of this in Cuba but allow myself to vacation!

Midterm Goals (3 months):
1. Continue with short term (including if required getting back on track after Cuba)
2. Increase mileage to run a 10 km race around Canada Day (July 1, 2008)
3. Try to find a 10 km race to run between June 15 - July 15, 2008
4. Obtain goal weight (currently set at 150 lb but maybe 144 lb to finish 20 lb challenge!) - BMI around 23
5. Continue weight training

Long term (1 year):
1. To still be at this in 12 months time (the exercise and health habits not the weight loss part!)
2. To maintain a BMI of around 23!
3. To run a half marathon...if all works out...Myrtle Beach Half Marathon Feb 2009
