I finally did the 1st run after stuggling with the sinus infection for the whole week. It was tough and yet great! But, I am glad that my legs still remember how much they enjoy running. Hopefully, I can slowly gain the momentum back and be ready for the next race soon.

This morning, I am FINALLY feeling somewhat better. I think that I will be healthy enough to do the triathlon on Sat, but I will not be any where near as prepared as I had hoped. Oh, well. I'll just be grateful that I am feeling a little better. Oh, and I went swimming last night even though I didn't really feel like it, and I didn't drown. Also a plus. So maybe I will survive the tri after all.

Oh, and Glovia (I know it was a while back), but super big congrats on the marathon!!! You are amazing!!!!

Thanks, Rachael. I am so sorry that I could not share the story. I was totally down becuase of the sirus infection right after the race. It was a great race. I love it and I would do it again next year. Take it easy on your training when you are not feeling well.

I will do a half marathon in August. How about you? When is your next tri?

My next tri is tomorrow!! I'm really pumped that I'm going to be able to do it, but I don't really expect a great performance since I'm still only about 75 to 80% because of this stupid sinus infection. My family is coming to watch me so I hope I do well enough to make them more interested in triathlon. I hope I do okay!! At the beginning of the week I didn't think I was going to be able to participate at all, so I'm at least glad that I can compete, even if I wind up having to walk some at the end (which I really really hope that I don't have to do).

rachael, hopefully some of that % will come back today/tonight. good luck tomorrow!

i've got a show tonight with my band, then a 5k in the morning. i don't know many people with this combination of lifestyles, but i do know it will be hard for me to be a good boy and get there in ~20 minutes tomorrow.

So I finished the tri over the weekend without collapsing! Haha! My swim pace improved, but the bike and run were slower. I'll go into more details when I get the pics uploaded from my camera. Here are the splits:

400 yard swim 8:15
T1 2:43
13 mile (very hilly) bike 52:47
T2 1:30
3 mile run 33:11
Total race time 1:36:54

it was a trail run, saturday, my first. i ran it in 19:30 and got third place for my age group. i finished about eighth over all, after my trainer, a few triathletes, and a few raily cross country kids. it was so funny to see the differences in physiques.

Well its the middle of my third week of training its going well, starting to feel stronger and can see a differance in my body shape already (only a bit!!!). Only done 2 small workout this week so far due to building a green house but at least its something . Going climbing tonight and then i'll do a good weights session.

Haven't seen many positives this week come on guys you cant all be on downer.

My positive: my hubby is back on the healthy band wagon, and he really wants to make it permanent this time. I think once he gets into the routine, it will be nice to have sort of a training partner, even if we aren't really doing the same thing. AND he says that he wants to try to eventually do a triathlon!! I'm so excited!!!

How cool, Rachael! Late congrats to your tri.

Your hill bike ride and swim time are excellent to me! I cannot do those at all.
