21 seconds is a looot of time to cut off from that distance!! and in a week, too! holy moly.

in not so scientific and mathematical terms, and not really taking everything into account, that's taking 34 seconds off a mile, which is a huge load of improvement.

My positive: I got up and worked out again this morning. Started my new weight training circut (basically changing up the exercises so I don't get bored) using the tri-newbies.com suggested weight training exercises.

Sweet!!! Someone else is following tri-newbies!!! I actually don't really follow their plan, but use it more as a guide. But still, very awesome!

Thanks Dean and Bean! Hah, that rhymes.

well i took fifteen off my brick mile this morning, then when i finished that, got back on the bike and did it again (but half distances, higher intensity). the pace for the second run was at six minutes, but again, only half mile.

brick mile

You mean you bike 1 mile then run 1 mile?

no, i'm not sure how far i biked, but it was twenty minutes of biking, 1 mile run, 10 minutes of biking, 1/2 mile run.

the first mile was 6.15. last time i timed it, two weeks ago, was 6.30.

This is my first post, so I'm glad it'll be a positive one. I brought in lots of fruit and veggies and diet soda to work. This is a drastic change from yesterday when I went to the vending machine 3 times! I feel skinnier already.

And I had foot surgery 2 months ago and today is the first time I am able to wear regular shoes. That means I'm one step closer to walking for exercise and maybe even running a 5K some day. That's my first major goal.

Jill!! That's so great!! Fruits, veggies, AND regular shoes!! Awesome!! If you keep at it, you'll be running a 5k in no time!

I don't know if it means anything.... it's from the discovery commercial... I have sufficiently limited access to the internet to effectively research it

There are different levels of blocking things at my work.

1. some things are completely blocked - you can never look at them. Example: porn, random pictures and videos that are not dirty at all, I don't really get some of the stuff.
2. some things are blocked unless you use your quota time - you get 60 minutes of quota time per day in 10 minute blocks. Example: You Tube
3. some things are blocked except at lunch time or you can use quota time at other times of the day. Example: Facebook.
4. some things are "blocked" but if you hit continue you can look at it anyways. Example: some cooking web sites.

It is common in IT industry to block internet access. My company allows internet access to only manager level and yet many sites are blocked also. I can't check yahoo mail at all.

Dave, I like that Discovery Channel commerical also a lot. Very positive and watching it brings warm feeling to my heart.

Rachael, that is a big improvement in such a short time. You are great! If I can reach my time goal in the Jun marathon, I will get into short distance run training also.

Woo Woo! WAY TO GO TIM!!!

Rachael, I too am just using the tri-newbies plan as a guide. I liked the weight training plan they had I also like some of the suggestions on how to train.

My positive for today: I ran 25 minutes straight again, and did a 10 minute walking hill climb and uped the incline from 10% to 15% for the last 5 minutes!!!
