I am making a effort to hit the gym every day this week. I currently go about 3 to 4 days. It should be interesting to see how I feel. I have been drinking Whey protein this week after working out so I feel pretty good.

Well...I tried. I think I am starting to get sick since I ache all over today. At least I got Sunday through Wednesday working out every day. At least now I get a rest day

Enjoy it, Joe. Hope you're not catching a bug, it might just be hard-training-related.

My + for today, along WITH GETTING TO RUN IN THE BLESSED SUN and in a balmy 19 awesome degrees, is that that run was a damn pleasure.

Pooch and I happily cruised around like buttah for 30 minutes on the trails in a huuuuuge park in my 'hood. I had my BPM's averaging 160 for the whole time, and often found myself pulling back on the reigns in order to keep it under 170. (I wanted to take it easy today due to the monthly bill coming in yesterday). My breathing was damn near effortless and I had SUCH A GOOD TIME.

If it weren't for the limitations in my skeleton and joints, I have no doubt that I could be a serious distance runner.

Just another mental note for those out there who have never been overweight, to NOT GO THERE, as the price the back and hinges pay is often darned high.

Nevertheless, I'm so thankful to be blessed to be working so well with what I HAVE.

Awesome Minu!!! I can't "weight" to get to the point where I can run and enjoy it that much

My positive for today: I weigh less today than I did at this time last week. Almost 5 pounds less. Huzzah!

i ran a 6'30" mile during a brick workout to start out my day.

i weigh about three more pounds than when i started training though, but i'm losing inches... which is kind of weird cause i'm doing cardio. no problem though.

NICE, Troy! I can't beLIEVE you only started running like what----a couple of months ago!??! You planning on giving Mr. Guerrouj a run for his money one day?

I sure wouldn't mind knowing your stats, if you don't mind sharing--height, weight, build etc.

Enjoy your awesome progress, Mr. Bean.

Positive -- ran full 8 minute stretches for the C25K. It felt good. I wish I could have a 10 minute mile pace let alone a 6:30. WOW!!! I am happy to make 13 minute pace on my running segments right now.

Cheers, Troy, no worries, I speak Imperialese...

And heheh, we have some similar measurements, (hips, "chest", biceps are the same, (though my womany arms are clearly are no where as lean), my calves are at 14" and pretty hard.).

At 5'11 you likely have a kick ass stride. And to think you made that mile time AFTER swimming AND biking, (correct?), well, it's just all the more awesome!

Rock on, sir Bean, ROCK ON.

a brick is just bike, then run (no swimming). 6.3 mi of biking this morning in particular.

my dad would've made me sick in his prime though. 5 min miles throughout a 10k...

ha, i have a woman's chest.

I finally got my measurements and BF taken today!!! The biggie is the BF - down to 27.2%!!!! Which means that since the last time I got my BF measured (Feb. 15 @ 181 lbs) to now (176.6 lbs), I have lost 12.6 lbs of fat and gained 8.2 lbs of muscle!!!!! And since my initial test (Jan 8 @ 186 lbs), I have lost 20.8 lbs of fat and gained 11.4 lbs of muscle!!!!!! Wooo hoooo!!!!!!!!! All my measurements are down except flexed bicep Here's a link to the spread sheet I've got going if anyone wants to know the rest of the results. (It's a Google document so you'll need a google account.)

I ran 4 miles last night. Most ever. Once everything went numb, I felt I could've run 10!

Because of my persistence in running, I have inspired my bf, his sister&her husband to sign up a 5K walk on May 4. (I will be running 10K in the race.)

I have been running for about 1 yr. None of my family/friends have supported me. They thought I was nuts when I got up early in the morning to run. They thought I went crazy when I signed up the 1st marathon last year. They made fun of me every time I tried to eat healthy and did whatever to improve my running performance.

I am so happy about that they are interested in walking now. One day, I wish they will do relay with me in a race.

i signed up for a walking marathon to fight breast cancer. i did my first group walk today and the leader told me it was going to be 6 and 1/2 miles and he failed to tell me that was one way! so i ended up walking 13 miles for my first walk. i was able to keep up b/c we went at our own pace- i didnt overdo it. i do have blisters but i was happy that i made it. i never could have done it if i havent been going to the gym regularly or weighed 240 like i used to.

Wonderful, Jen! I am so proud of you. 13mile is a very long walk. I am glad that you didn't feel overdone it.

You are indeed very persistent to go to the gym. It does help to make yourself fitter for event of such.

The boobs of the world thank you, Jenn!

This just in from my little world:

I'm happy to report that I'm now doing barbell squats in the same amounts as my previous body weight squats, (25 x3) and while of course they're more of a challenge at the end of a set, they're feeling GREAT.

I bet I'll be adding weight to that bar sooner than I thought I would.
