Not much to say, I like playing video games and watching/playing sports. I work as a web developer for a small company.
I think when I get into shape I want to become a volunteer firefighter.
Goal: Lose 35lbs before Cardio King

I recently joined a boxing gym (about a month ago). And recently on one of the days I was sick and did not go the trainer was talking with my g/f and he told her that he was impressed with my willingings to push myself and the others around me. Even though I was much bigger than the guys around me I could do more than what was needed of me.
A lot of the guys that I have seen and go would go outside and puke after about 10 mins of starting and never come back.
So that was a big positive for my day.

My + for today, I got hailed on AGAIN!
Doesn't sound like much of a positive, but I rather enjoyed it as it spurred me to run in order to keep the body heat up while the wind whipped at my wet fleece, ('cause of COURSE the hail was preceeded by rain), and I had planned on merely a power walk with the pooch in the park so the push to burn more was a plus and it felt AWESOME to run again.
Even though I didn't have the right footwear on, I stuck to the grass and pushed the pace Rocky hard. Dadadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa--dadadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Awesome Ara!!! That's great!! You are allowed to have a big head after getting a compliment like that. Be proud of yourself!
Minu, be careful out there. Don't want to catch pneumonia! But yea for the run.
My positive: I ran 7k in 50 minutes again last night. And my 5k time went down from 35 to 34 minutes. Yea me!! And I'm much less sore and exhausted than last time.

Thanks, Rachael, all systems seem go today despite the soggy coldness of yesterday.
And for fun, I brought my HR monitor with me to bed last night, (well, on the night stand, hehe), so I could check out my resting rate this morning and I was most pleased to see it at its lowest ever:
45 BPM

I've always been bigger. Maybe not classified as being fat because I carry it pretty well. But, well, I'm fat. There's no fooling myself. In January, months of hard work paid off as my wife got pregnant with what will be our first child. I had been exercising a bit until that point, but I decided to ramp it up a notch and get my weight to where I can be healthy and be around a long time for my wife and kid.
I've been known to drop 40-50 pounds in 5 months or so on a few occasions, only to slowly gain that weight back over a couple years. This time is different. I know everybody says that and usually that statement doesn't come to fruit, but I've got that incentive...becoming a daddy.
Got a blog rolling- rokandroll.blogspot.com
I post on it a few times a week. Mostly fitness stuff. I try to be somewhat humorous. Check it out if you're REALLY bored.

Haha!!
My positive: I actually ate a big meal without feeling guilty or counting calories and I ate well all the day before and started right back to it this morning. Excluding the big meal last night, my calories have been perfect. And the big meal was planned as a splurge meal - and it was delicious. Yum!! The big positive here is that I knew I was going to be splurging in the evening, but I didn't just go ahead and call the whole day a splurge, and I didn't let it carry over to today. I feel like I'm gaining control over myself and my diet. It's a really good feeling.

nice positives everyone!! keep them coming!! i apologize that i cant individually respond to each one. i hurt my back and havent been able to check the computer/sit as often. the good news is that my back is getting better each day and im not letting my injury really get me down. im doing what i need to do to get better and what happened, happened. it wasnt due to picking up weight that was too heavy. i picked up weight and heard a pop noise and that caused the injury.nothing i could do about it. im following instructions. the chiro says i could walk and bike so i could do that and i am happy with that. i couldnt even move originally so i have come very far already. im happy to see everyone is still plugging away and doing well!!! i love it!!

Sorry to hear about your back troubles, Jenn. I'm no stranger to them either and I'm glad to see you're on the mend and not letting it get to you.
Enjoy the walking & biking.
My positive for today, IT'S SUNNY IN FRANCE, and that alone rocks my pants. Plus, I just got a new camera and this much anticipated light is most appreciated by me and my new lens.
AND, it's calisthenics-day, I can't wait to push the ole envelope again, RAAHHHRRRR!

On Friday, I went 21.6 miles on my bike!! It was amazing!!
Also, the bike shop was having their annual sale, so I finally got some clips for my bike (instead of pedals) and the shoes that go with it. Now I will be able to push AND pull.

yikes! when i lived in san francisco i used to bike all over the place. it's really a fun city to ride around. i ALWAYS rode on the sidewalk though even though there were tons of bike lanes unless traffic was really really light. my roommate had clips, but i never went that hard core. probably because i was mentally scarred from when i wiped trying to pull up on the curb and got a round of applause from the people in the cars next to where i was laying. with clips, i could envision myself falling over everytime i came to a stop...kinda like in slow motion--

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

I did not go out drinking last night, and probably will not tonight.
