Most of my workouts are 20 minutes or shorter. Including a short warmup, I can usually be done in half an hour. Well, today's is a little more maniacal. I'm hoping for 50 minutes for the following:

I may give it a try after I do my triathlon and do at least 6 weeks of the Abs Diet w/o. I like to be able to do workouts that have enough flexibility that I can still include some swimming and biking so I don't lose my skills for the tri. How do you go immediately from running to kettlebells to pullups? I would be sprinting all over the gym because the treadmill is in one place, kettlebells another, and the pullup area is in another.

Sure you are, Rachael. The first tenet of CrossFit is that we scale back the things we don't have the strength and stamina for. The first time I tried Helen, I did this:

On a side note, I haven't purchased a sweatband yet. However, I gave the hat thing a try (actually it was a visor) in spin class and then while running last night, and it worked wonders so I will definitely be purchasing a sweatband in the near future. So my w/o last night didn't go perfectly. I was giving around 80% effort for most of the spin class until this one song/drill that particularly revs me up. I think the point is that some of the symptoms of pcos can be aggravated with extra weight. So it's possible that pcos makes it easier for you to gain weight which causes other problems. The whole ripple effect.

On the other hand, based on most of the research I've done on pcos (I stopped when it started getting too depressing), pcos can make people more likely to gain weight (the insul...

Reply by Tammie J

Quoting: shadowmoonall my doctor keeps saying is "lose weight and it will go away" , i don't believe them for a minute but i am trying to lose the weight.
WHOA... I think you might need to find a new dr if at all possible.
Having PCOS is the Cause of the weight gain in most of the people that are actually over weight with it. Yep. PCOS has about a zillion symptoms associated with it. It's kind of an odd diagnose in a way, because you can have any number of the symptoms, and be effected in any number of ways. I've read lots about people gaining a lot of weight, but just as many where it has had no effect on weight. Just like the actual cysts are not required to have pcos (had the ultrasound done and none found).

I could ran seriously again this morning and have started hill run training again. After 2 miles easy run warm up, I played with little brother hill. I did him 5 times (~2.5 mile in total) with ~2min range each: 2:05, 2:03, 2:00, 1:59, 1:59. They were all slower compared to the last time I run little brother hill weeks ago. But, I was able to keep up the pace and improving in each loop. I was content. I am sure I will be better next I run him. ...

Reply by Glovia L

How cool, Rachael!
