Heh.. I'm ok with guys looking at me like that. Sure after the guys talk to me I'd like to have their respect.. but you have to earn respect.. I would rather the first impression be "wow... now thats something i like to look at" versus "Lovely... She looks respectable"... Unless I am at work of course.. heh

About 5 years ago, I took off 100 pounds (98 to be exact) in 6 months through a lot of exercise eating better and working a little less. So far, I've kept it all off /- 5 lbs and looking to take just a few more off.
For the past few years, I've come close to the 6-pack abs, this year, I'm going to make it happen.

Some other things that help keep me motivated are being able to always fit into my skinny jeans, knowing at any time I could go out the door and run a marathon, rarely getting tired out regardless what type of activity I might be doing.
Motivation for me is so much about just feeling great all of the time and knowing that I need to keep up with the exercise to maintain that feeling.
On a whim, yesterday I signed up for a personal trainer to help me figure out the road to the elusive six-pack abs. I figure that this might make for a real difficult challenge and I love challenges. I've come close a few times, but never quite to the level needed for that. I'd like to know that once in my life I've done it just for the sake of doing it. Not trying to impress anyone but myself.
Have a great day all!

What motivates me right now is to get better at DDR and PIU. I used to be one of the best players in my country, so I do take these games quite seriously lol, but now I'm simply too heavy to compete with the best players around, so I'd really like to get back to my former weight and shape by this summer.
That, and pretty much everything that's been said before (health, look good for my gf etc.)

Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)

Having been in 34" and then 36" inch waist jeans my for the last 10 years (and the 36"s were getting snug) I stay motivated by having a goal of being able to fit into my current 32" jeans.

There are a lot of things that motivate or well make me want to lose this weight.
- I am the maid of honor in my friend's wedding in a year and a regular bridesmaid in another around the same and I want to look good in my dress and all those pictures being taken!
- I want to go to an amusement park and be able to ride anything I want without having to worry if the bar will go down. (that is extreme embarassment)
- Like someone else that posted, I am tired of being the "fat friend" when my girls and I go out. I want some attention too as bad as that sounds. I want to the 'curvy hot girl' haha.
- I want to show of my mad dancing skills in public.
- I want to be able to shop anywhere for clothing.
- I want to live my life to the fullest. I feel that my weight holds me back a lot or I use it to make excuses.
NO more of those. I only weight myself once a week and have been on a losing track since January 6!

I workout to look better, honestly (agrees with Michelle and Dave ). And I have a family history of cancer and diabetes so... I also do it to prevent getting those.

You'll get there...just persevere and you'll do it!
I hate airplane seats.

Tell me about it! The only place I can go these days is Big & Tall stores and they're not to abundant where I live. Their prices are outrageous also!!

I am a student in university so we all know what that means....
The freshmen 15 increased to 50, but that was over 4 years. I finally made it to the gym at the end of September and haven't looked back.
23 pounds down, 27 to go.

I also want to be able to shop anywhere for clothing, though I don't have the same problem as you Dan... but I almost did at one point.
I also want to be able to wear a bikini in the summer. When I was in shape and able to wear them, I didn't because I am a lifeguard and it wasn't realistic to buy one. Then I got older and wanted to wear one since I am not guarding anymore and I wasn't in shape.
So this summer I vow to be able to wear the swim suit of my choice and look good while doing it!
