I challenge myself to do 1 hour of cardio in my zone on xmas. What about you? I will check back in here and let you know if I accomplished it. Let me know if you accomplished what you set out to do whether it be to eat an extra fruit or veggie, get your water in, exercise , have only 1 dessert or whatever it is, let us know. Holidays are a stressful time for many. Let it be fun if possible and enjoy yourself!!!

Wow I love challenges! I will do the same complete my hour of cardio! I usually do 45 to 50 minutes, and I will continue with my 2nd challenge the no-soda challenge, I have like 2 weeks with my 2nd challenge, by the way should I avoid the coca-cola Zero?

great job victor! go for the hour too!!
i stopped drinking soda too! i went cold turkey i think last year, im not even sure when. 2 weeks-thats great! im not sure what the coca-cola zero is. personally, i think all soda isnt wonderful for you. im not sure your approach-if you are trying to eliminate it totally or trying to drink it in moderation? i would try to keep making small goals with yourself like a week at a time if that is what is working for you. soon enough a week will be a month a month will be 6 months....i hope that helps.

Yeah I can't believe how much better I feel when I complete the hour! is wonderful! and for my overall cardio it's been 3 weeks and Im starting to see small results and thats awesome! time will fly and the big results are coming!
The coke zero is the one without sugar, I just tasted it a lil bit today and its ok, but I stick with the wonderful H2O! and the Holidays..... too much turkey and snacks ! Im scared since tomorrow my family brings a lot of appetizers for the guests and most of them are really delicious! still.. Im not gonna be tempted and maybe just try some of them and thats it! and no Soda of course!

im glad you are seeing results! what a great feeling! keep it up! yes, time goes by anyway and yes it is flying! i would say if the coke zero is just "okay" than it isnt worth it! the holidays are tough with the snack and appy's etc but with your hour of cardio and a realistic and reasonable attitude of trying to just maintain your weight and not having soda, you should be fine. remember your goals and stick with your plan. dont go to the party starving, fill up with some water and veggies and focus on the people, not on the food!

I don't know why but there are always veggies included with the snacks
Now that I think about it its easy for me to resist to eat some kind of unhealthy food now! and I cannot live without my hour of Cardio! I haven't done my cardio yet but Im gonna do it right now before it's too late.
After some weeks of exercising everything its different now I'm in love with the exercise and the healthy food! no worries for tomorrow's snacks! Thanks Jennifer for your support it means a lot!

I am getting a new pair of shoes for Christmas, so they will get 5 miles on them on Christmas Day.
I entered a training schedule for my first upcoming marathon on the calender. It propagated the dates automatically. My first "official" training run is Christmas Eve. I guess a higher power it telling me something. "Get your butt out of the fridge and on the road".

Tim Wilson
I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.
A more up to date thread on me: http://www.traineo.com/14_2366_0.html

Well, I didn't post mine because it kinda didn't fit what everybody was after.
but...... I did accomplish what I set out to do!
I effectivley sat on my butt all day long and spent time with the family. No cardio for me, and no weight lifting for me!
That was by choice though. I almost went for a run but decided that my kids would be happier if I spent the entire day with them. I will be back at it today.
