Do you procrastinate? Do you always make excuses for not going to the gym when you know have the time? Do you put off eating "right" because you don't feel like cooking, etc.? Do you stick with the same exercise routine day after day because anything else seems too hard?

I can admit that I'm guilty of all of these things. It took a lot for me to get over these OBSTACLES, including words of encouragement as well as hearing some things that I didn't particularly want to hear (thanks Jennifer G, Dean G, and Splint C).

I was at the point where I thought I was really ready to lose weight and get myself fit, but I was still coming up with every lame excuse in the book not to go to the gym or eat right. I've FINALLY come to realize that analyzing what I could or SHOULD be doing won't get it done, and it certainly won't help me reach any of the goals I've set for myself.

Now I find myself going to the gym a lot more, and eating well on a more consistent basis. Is my diet and exercise routine perfect? HELL NO. Do I still slip up some days? HELL YES. But I'm more focused than I've ever been, and with a lot of determination and support (traineo and friends) I KNOW I can do what needs to be done.

I've been telling everyone that my newest challenge is PATIENCE. I still have to remind myself that it's going to take time to make the changes in my lifestyle that will equate into changes in my body. We all know that feeling, we go to the gym and when we wake up the next morning, we expect to have that perfect body. NOT GONNA HAPPEN. But, it can be done over time. There are so many people on this site who have, and that should show us all that we can do whatever we set to achieve, as long as we're ready mentally to do what it takes.

So, if you're sitting around wondering how to get in better shape, or if you should go to the gym on a particular day, or if you should eat right even though you know you have a holiday party to go to, just get up and do something. JUST DO IT! You'll feel better after you do, trust me.

The key (or at least for me) is to be harsh with myself while still being realistic. Sometimes I have to curse myself out, but it gets me where I need to be mentally. Remember, the body gets its direction from the MIND, and not the other way around.

Wow...so yea this is really long. If you've read this far, CONGRATULATIONS, lol. I just had to get that stuff off my chest.

Thanks again to everyone who's a motivator, who sends kind words, and who generally supports me. I hope, in some small way, that I'm doing the same for someone else.

P.S. - Traineo rocks my face off!

That reminds me of when Kramer (Seinfeld episode) invents the man bra. They called it a Mansierre or "Bro". Scary. I linked to a youtube clip.

Funny how other people's laughter makes you smile regardless of the content...I found myself laughing and smiling during this.
