Yep, life got in the way. I haven't worked out at all for the past week. I work 2 jobs (one full time), I'm a student, blah blah blah. I'm sure nearly everybody here knows exactly what I'm talking about. Anyhoo, I definitely got overwhelmed with the amount of work I have had for the past week (end of the semester), and unfortunately it led to fitness taking a back seat. Luckily, things have just slowed down, and I'm back on the wagon! My muscles have had a good week to rest and they're itching to get pulverized again
Moral of the story, sometimes we have to juggle many responsibilities, but we don't have to DROP any of them

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

Excellent post Matt.
I work two jobs and do school, etc. and it can be a little challenging getting everything done. I'm glad you're getting back on the wagon, although I'm not sure if it's good to "pulverize" your muscles. Or is it? What's your training like?

Eh, I could have been exaggerating a bit there, lol. Today I'm going to put in a good 30-40 minutes weight training for my upper body. Then later on tonight I'm gonna go back and do 45 minutes of the elliptical (or maybe I'll go play racquetball, haven't decided). So, I don't pulverize my muscles, but I love the feeling of sore muscles

Awesome. I did about 30 minutes of weight training last night. I think pretty soon I'm gonna have to up the intensity. My triceps are so sore...but it's a good thing!
Today I'm gonna do my cardio...and then take a nap! (rest is important too)

I find that the busier that I am, it actually easier for me to justify time to work out. I guess that it forces me to schedule my time and does not allow me to make excuses (which I am famous for!!) to not go to the gym.
On that note, when I'm really busy I find weight training very relaxing. I love the fact that it is just me, my music, and the weight. The rest of the world just disappears for the hour and I come away a little tired, but mentally refreshed.
Good luck with your workout Matt!

Yeah i also find life getting in the way of trying to healthy. I'm pretty much in the same boat with 2 jobs and a full time student, but also do a fair bit of long distant driving to see my gf and family which is a good 2 hr each way and when your on the road there isn't much of a selection of good food to eat while on the road.
