Cindy,
I've been on the blood pressure meds for about 3 weeks now. The doctor told me that even for my size, at my age it was abnormally high. I didn't want to take them at first, but I also don't want to develop heart disease at an early age, so I chose the lesser of two evils: pill popping. Hopefully, I won't have to stay on the meds indefinitely, but only time will tell.
Question for everyone: what are some good in-home cardio tips? I was supposed to go to the gym today for a cardio workout, but I literally have no time (working 14+ hours today). I don't even have time to run around the block My cousin told me to do 200 jumping jacks, so I'll give it a try.
Yay fitness, lmbo.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Good going Curtis! Remember not to go overboard on the weight training if you're just starting out - I've done some workouts recently that have kept me out of the gym for 3-4 days straight! (I should pick a lazy workout partner!)... Keep it up and keep letting us know how it's going

Quoting: lglcctj what are some good in-home cardio tips?
Whenever I'm stuck in the house or in a hotel without a gym I just try to beat my record at the 100 Burpee Challenge. Basically you do 100 Burpees as fast as you can.
What's a burpee? They're demonstrated in the beginning of this video. Later in the video they start doing the insane muscle-up burpee.

Jessipoo .
About me: --------------------------- I'm an architecture student at a great school.
After trial and error, managed to shed the pounds for real.
What I'm doing: --------------------------- Portion control still a problem. HIIT 2x/week Starting weights 1x/week
I take stairs over escalator and elevator ALL THE TIME (I climb 6 sets of stairs minimum for the day at the metro 2-3floors?).
Extra note: --------------------------- I finally understand what being fit means! And I actually love running now thanks to HIIT.
Goal: lose the belly fat! My problem area. First goal: 120lbs - MET 2nd goal: 116lbs - MET 3rd goal: 112lbs ish with more muscle definition
Realizing I can't change the way my body stores fat and have a noticeable belly during the day (pic was morning with light breakfast after workout) I will work on making a stronger core to counter the pooch a bit
Dropped 1 pant size since last year (stable weight) Dropped 2 pant sizes since mid-Summer after Greece (pastries=weight gain)

why do you think that it must be a gym?
maybea walking would be better or jogging.
you must do things that make you happy and that give joy, otherwise you will soon be fed up.
I`m a girl from estonia.
All the best,
Sirli

Good point. I haven't been able to get the proper running shoes yet though. They're pretty pricey. But it's all coming together...slowly but surely.

and more,
try to join weight-watchers
then, drink a lot of water, 1,5-2 l every day
instead of chocolates eat fruit,
instead of hamburgers eat chicken or fish with vegetables
if you go to a shopping mall
watch how big is the percentage of fat in goods (foods)
cheese must be 20% or less fat in 100 gr
mayonnase 20 % or less fat in 100 grams
meat or ham 5% or less fat in 100 grams
sousages 10 % or less in fat in 100 grams
AND DON`T TRUST A WORD LIGHT, because it`s has very different meanings and sometimes it is just a commercial thing to use this word, watch packages and the percentage of fat.
this kind of information is written on packages.
if you buy these things, you will lose weight soon.
and remember that 100 grams of chocolate equals 11 bananas
write, what you think about it.
