New here, just found out about this fun-looking online community today and I thought I'd give it a try. I'm a 36 year old female dealing with fibromyalgia aond chronic fatigue syndrome and I am looking for some motivation and accountability to help me stay as active as possible, even on crummy days...
I love the idea of having motivators and even being one someday, but I will have to wait and see how my energy levels are before I commit to cheering someone else on. My apologies in advance. As soon as I am able, I plan to become a more active and productive member of this community. In the meantime, I hope you don't mind if I "lurk" around a bit and read all your wonderful tips, ideas, and successes. Hopefully I'll be able to share my own healthy breakthroughs with all of you very soon!

Have an energetic weekend, everyone!

Regards,
FG

Welcome, it's always to see new faces around here. You've taken the first step to committing to a healthy lifestyle. If you need any encouragement along the way, I am always available as a motivator, as are many other fine folks around here

Thank you, Brandon, I might take you up on that offer...Is there any way to add more than 4 motivators at this time? I've already lost 4 lbs. and I'm feeling great! Now I'm off for my morning walk. Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

That's an excellent question...I've just got 1 motivator right now so I couldn't tell you. It's great to hear you've already lost 4 pounds. As I see the pounds start to drop, it really motivates me to continue with my newly healthy lifestyle.

Hi Brandon,

I posted my question to the Admin thread- maybe if enough of us ask...

Yes, seeing the scale move is great, but it can be a double-edged sword if we let it. I'm trying primarily to focus on feeling good and staying as consistently active as possible while limiting my old pattern of "crash and burn". I do, however, get kinda giddy when I get on the scale and see a lower number. I feel like I'm competing with myself!

Today, I set up my treadmill in the living room and I built a computer desk for my laptop and peripherals that fits over the treadmill's console. I was able to walk for 60 min. today (very slowly, about 2 miles/hr) while surfing and checking email. Yep, I'm a geek!

I've heard of other people doing things like that - setting up a treadmill or exercise bike at their computer desk. I'm quite the geek myself - I should try doing something like that too!

Hi -

While it was previously possible to add more than 4 motivators, it was in no way obvious - as a result of your feedback we've just updated the interface, so it's now possible to easily add as many motivators as you like - look in the bottom left of your Your Motivators pane - there's now a link 'Add another', which does exactly what it says on the can.

Keep up the good work

Thanks!

Maxwell
