Is it Arnold? Is it Mia Hamm? Is it Brad Pitt circa Fight Club? The Incredible Hulk? Mr. or Ms. Olympia?
Who are your fitness idols? Who's image do you think of when you need a little motivation, or when you think of what your goals are?

About me: --------------------------- I'm an architecture student at a great school.
After trial and error, managed to shed the pounds for real.
What I'm doing: --------------------------- Portion control still a problem. HIIT 2x/week Starting weights 1x/week
I take stairs over escalator and elevator ALL THE TIME (I climb 6 sets of stairs minimum for the day at the metro 2-3floors?).
Extra note: --------------------------- I finally understand what being fit means! And I actually love running now thanks to HIIT.
Goal: lose the belly fat! My problem area. First goal: 120lbs - MET 2nd goal: 116lbs - MET 3rd goal: 112lbs ish with more muscle definition
Realizing I can't change the way my body stores fat and have a noticeable belly during the day (pic was morning with light breakfast after workout) I will work on making a stronger core to counter the pooch a bit
Dropped 1 pant size since last year (stable weight) Dropped 2 pant sizes since mid-Summer after Greece (pastries=weight gain)

There's an amazing photo out there of fitness model/figure competitor Ava Cowan, where she's looking down at her abs, which are just absolutely CUT. I mean, rediculously cut. I think about that a lot when I slack or when I feel like I can't do that last set. There's something about amazing abs that really just symbolizes a great body, a great level of fitness, to me.
Here's the link if you want to see it. It's a fairly provocative picture, enough that I wouldn't want it on my computer screen at work, so I won't post it here, just out of courtesy I guess.

Um, I was looking at her abs. Using someone's face to help you with your fitness goals would be pretty awkward. I'm pretty sure no amount of time in the gym will give me Angelina Joile's lips. hehe

Started NutriSystem on 3/10/07 to lose weight. Continue to weight train and adding more cardio. Primary goal is to drop the weight. Once the weight is off, then I will intensify the strength training.

I am my own fitness idol. When I got out of the Army in 1990, I was in superb shape. Working my old PT schedule to whip myself back into shape. Also, cutting caloric intake to shed pounds on endurance/strength building workouts and slow-burn hikes does not permit you, once a week, to eat a whole box of Spanish rice and AkMak crackers in one sitting. (+2.5 pounds. Eep. Lock it down, soldier.)
DO YOU HEAR ME, APOLLO?
heh.

Neither an athlete or a body builder so I may be a bit off theme but it would be Madonna for me in terms of a whole body "look" (especially for her age) and early in her career I saw Emily Woof in a play called Sex III where she performed part of the show on a trapeze - amazing abs

I am 29 years old and have grown passionate about fitness and health! Overall, I have lost and kept off a little over 40 pounds, and I have about 20 or so more that I would like to take off. This last year has been tough and distracting in many ways, and I am back to work now! I am revisiting Traineo, because this site and the people here were instrumental in helping me lose my original 40 pounds so I am back! I regret that because of time constraints I won't be able to be AS active in the forums as I used to, but I will certainly try to stay in there and reconnect with old friend as well as make new ones.
My fitness goals remain the same as before as I haven't achieved them yet: *GOAL 1 = 140 lbs Target Date = 7/31/08 Date Met = TBD CURRENT FITNESS GOALS: Run a 5K, improve flexibility enough to do the splits, be able to do 50 pushups in a row, be able to do a pull-up, learn to do a hand stand and then hand stand pushups. :)

Hmmmm...funny enough I never really had one. I want to be like the people who are great overall athletes, the ones who don't worry so much about how they look, but rather their fitness level.
If I had to pick a fitness idol today, I would say Fred L is mine! He has always shared the same health philosophy as me as far as change of lifestyle being key to reach our fitness goals. He has motivated me the most of anyone on my whole weight loss/fitness journey. If anyone just tries to keep up with him, they will succeed!
For those of you who weren't as lucky as I was to lose weight and get in shape alongside someone like Fred, you can still view Fred's incredible transformation HERE and continue to be incredibly motivated. Thanks Fred.

I've been concentrating a lot on my diet lately. That coupled with having to take at least a 30 minute walk a day with my new dog has helped move me from the plateau I was on.
I'm a web programmer/computer support guy looking to lose my gut. I play roller hockey 2-3 days a week, but that just isn't getting it done anymore.
After weight training 3 days a week, with the hockey I have dropped 14 pounds in the last 2 months! I still have a ways to go, but it's coming off.
Mini goals: 220 8/31 - Missed by a little 222 200 10/13 Close, 203 180 12/24 (So I can tell everyone how I lost almost 50lbs over X-Mas)

I'm 25, from Fife in Scotland. I have a 4 year old little boy who is cheeky but great lol. Love him to bits. I work in a lawyers, have been there for almost 10 years. I have 2 cats - Sherri and Mollie.
Lost my way a bit in my training and dieting and want to get back into it. Get the bug back so to speak.
Enjoy spending time with my closest friends, reading, writing and spending time with my wee boy obviously. Like to watch Prison Break and Lost on the box, love to dance and listen to music, have the occasional drink.
Want to sort a number of things in my life and my body and confidence is one of the main ones. Hopefully I will do it this time, with the love and support of those closest to me.
Ciao!

My ex-boyfriend, who is still my best friend tho we have drifted apart.
He is so into his fitness and health routines, he eats very well and sensibly but doesn't "ban" anything from his diet - he doesn't need to, he is in such great shape. He weight trains 4 times a week, does indoor rowing 5 times a week and cycles one a week. He is very dedicated and it isn't to lose weight or anything - he enjoys it, he enjoys the food and he has a fantastic body to show for it. He's 38 and this is the best he has ever looked.
He is my motivation and if I feel myself slacking he is the only one I need to look at to give me a kick up the backside. I'm very proud of him and I know he is very proud of me

I am 34 years old, married and a father of a 2.5 year old. They are the motivators for me to reach my goal. I started the new journey on 8/21/06 @307 lbs and as of June '08, I have lost around 108 lbs. I have been able to keep 100 lb weight loss since Sept. '07. What keeps me on track is the Traineo community, vision of a healthy and fit future and the mini-goals below. *GOAL 1 = 244 lbs, Date = 2/15/07 Date Met = 2/7/07 *GOAL 2 = 229 lbs, Date = 3/22/07 Date Met = 3/30/07 ________________________ *GOAL 3 = 199 lbs, Date = 6/30/08 Date Met = 6/5/08 *GOAL 4 = 185 lbs, Date = 09/30/08 Date Met = TBD (185 is my "ultimate" goal. Then build muscle.)
Hobbies/Interests: Baseball, White Sox, bowling, WII, Xbox 360, PSP, XM, Opie and Anthony radio show, Ron and Fez radio show, variety of music, working out, running.
Personal Records: 5K - 26:18 (4/14/08-8:29/mile pace) 10K- 54:56-9/16/07-(8:43/mile pace) 10 Mile Run - CXLD due to injury Marathon - 10/12/08
Advice: - Set a Deadline: "A goal is a dream with a deadline - Napolean Hill." - Set Mini Goals - They help you accomplish small milestones on your way to the "ultimate" goal. - Track your progress. - Plan everything out. Daily workout routines, meals, etc. - Be patient. Your goals will eventually be met, if you work hard.

All, don't let Jennie fool you. She has been a GREAT motivator for me also and she should be for others. Her results week after week were amazing and inspiring during a weight loss challenge here on Traineo. She has completed a great body transition and I know there is more to come.
