Extreme vanity... (half joking)

I'm only 23, but I was always the fat kid (from 9 years old to now really) at least in my head. I want to look good, stretch marks, and a 40% body fat percentage are no good. So now I don't want to become the fat man (which comes with type II diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, etc.)

I want to look good at the beach (Wedding and Honeymoon in 6/08, i have lots of time to get a six pack, )

And more importantly (see what i meant, half joking, this is the serious half)

I want to be able to play with my children for a long time, I want to still play catch when they are 21 and playing basball or football in college, and throwing the ball harder than i ever could...I want to be able to jump onto the floor with my grandchildren and wrestle and teach them some of the Kung Fu and Tai Chi I know, when I'm 60 and older.

I want to be able to study and teach the Kung Fu and Tai Chi until i'm 100 years old...etc. etc. etc.,

and I want my (soon-to-be) wife to be attracted to me physically, forever, I'm not worried about the love, we have lots of that.

Oooh, good one, Nat!

{Eyeing the floor and wondering if I could do one solitary push-up without collapsing on my face...)

The most memorable part of that film for me was not the special effects (I remember people were all excited about the "digital actor" aspect of the film), but the sequence with Hamilton's character working out in her jail cell. It was the first film I ever saw that equated physical strength in a woman with attractiveness. I also like the training bit with Demi Moore in G.I. Jane (though I'll pass on the haircut )

Found a routine here that was developed by Hamilton's trainer.

Agreed, Nat. That cinematic moment also struck me and helped me to understand that I could be sugar, spice and everything nice, and STILL kick the boys' tushies!!

Thanks for the training link- hopefully I'll be strong enough to try it soon!

Mine is looking at pictures of myself from four years ago, and realizing that once upon a time I was, in fact, thin and pretty, and damnit, I will be again.

Gabe's Thinsperation

I want to be the real me. Not the me who is worried about what I look like or the me who is always tired becuase he eats unhealthy or the me who is sedentary and lazy. I want to be the real me - who enjoys eating the amazing things that God has given us, the me who desires to be active and run and present my body in a manner fit for a child of God - i want to be the real me, the one who is strong in mind and body. As I lose weight and become more healthy, I want to give the glory to good for my new found discipline in Him.

He is my thinsperation. I am my thinsperation.
Think of me as "thinspired"!

I'll be proposing when I reach my thinspiration. Not that my partner cares, but I just want to be able to look back at that day and have some great photos that I'm proud of.

I have a few thinspirations. A few of them are: getting back to the weight I was my freshman year of high school for the short term, meaning the next 5 months or so(around 155lbs); wanting to be in pictures instead of hiding behind anyone and anything; and actually being happy while buying clothes (especially in one of my favorite stores (American Eagle, Gap, etc.), instead of buying them just because I need to replace really old clothes that are falling apart. I'm down to a size 12 jeans at American Eagle, which is pretty awesome because for a year, I couldn't even shop there anymore. I love that store.

MY big thing is that I want to be able to play JV football in the spring. My goal looks a long way off but I think that I can make it. My other reason is to get rid of my nickname and trade it in for a new one. I'm tired of people that don't know me staring at me when my friends call me cookie. The only other thing is that I am tired of being the fat kid. For some reason I am one of only 4 or 5 kids that are overweight in my freshman class.

My thinspiration is looking forward to going into the store and not asking for the biggest size they have! I want to be able to shop, see something I like and know that they will have it in my size! Thats what I'm looking forward too. Also, I want to look hot for my B-day party 13/06/07 which I think is totally do-able.

My thinspiration...to run into the ex and look hot and know he wants it but can't have it! Furthermore, to look the way I did when I graduated HS and feel as good as I did then.

My thinspiration: turning 30 in six months.

I got to where I belong (scale-wise) once, after baby #3, and I can get there again (baby #4 set me back again!).

Thinspirations:

* Getting the load off my hip joints.
* Being able to keep up with my kids.
* Knocking my husband's socks off.
* Setting a good example for my kids.
* Dropping the matronly look.
* Looking and feeling great.
* Living to be 125.

@Ranny: I got to where I belong after each of my four kids, but hip and back injuries set me back further than any pregancy.

I think this Christmas was a wake up call for me. I saw pictures of myself from the past five years--I haven't changed a bit! And I remember all the times in the past five years that I have regretted a pleasant dessert, or said that I would lose weight and eat healthy. Even though it might have happened occasionaly, by Christmas time it is evident that I went back to my original weight. So, with that said, here are my thinsperations:

(I have a lot for year 2007, looking good should be something to look forward to and not stress over)
--February-Winter Formal
--March-Spring Break (I am from Florida, swimwear is a must...)
--April-Dance show solo performance
--May-End the school year looking good
--June-family gathering for a birthday party in Japan
--July/August-summer fun
--September-my eighteenth Birthday

It's nice to have an event pretty much every month to motivate me for looking good. The last one, my eighteenth birthday, is my biggest goal. I am looking forward to losing 15-20 pounds (well, I am more focused on losing inches than losing weight) healthily in 8 months (My birthday is early september) Wish me luck!

Kat

I have a fitness "dream board" that I made from cutouts of motivating words, quotes, and photos of some very fit women in tight clothes, bikini's etc...from some of my fitness magazines. It is like a collage of sorts, and it hangs in my kitchen. When I look at that, it reminds me that my hard work will pay off some day so I will be fit like those women in the pictures.

My friend Dan came over the other day and asked if that was my dream board or my husband's. I guess my hubby appreciates it as well.

My thinsperation is just to be in the best shape of my life.

My thinspiration is to take my jacket off. I want to be comfortable enough to eat a meal in front of strangers and not feel like a cow. I'd also love to go clothes shopping. I wear everything until it has worn out and needs to be replaced.

My 'thinspiration' is to be able to buy clothes in the mall again...no more Casual Male shopping.

I want to get in shape to feel good in my body, not limited by it.

For example, I'm a henna artist, and I love henna on feet -- but my hips are too tight from sitting in front of computers all day long to comfortably reach my feet and henna them!

My thinspiration?

Hennaed feet.

And hopefully I'll have a yoga bunny body to go with those hennaed feet of mine.

New to Traineo and love this thread ... i'm wondering how the people who entered their "Thinspiration" a couple of months back are doing?

As for me, my "Thinspriation" (love the term) ... is to be slim and fit enough by this time next year to start doing practical pistol shooting (you know, belts / holsters / running around stuff while shooting at targets).

Mine is fear. I had plantar fasciitis (my name for it is plantar fascism) for 18 months. Then I went for a complete physical, and cringed while the doctor told me I'd have to go on blood pressure medication if I didn't change. Oh, and I was also pre-diabetic, well on my way to full blown Type 2 diabetes.

I'm at the age where my greatest joy in life is watching my two kids become adults. I have a great job, but my family is my real source of peace. I realized I was in danger of losing all that.

I'm happy to say that, 24.5 lbs. lighter than where I started, my BP for the first time in a year was normal this morning (120/76), my resting pulse has dropped from 69 to 54, and no more plantar fasciitis.

I also have a long way to go. I just joined traineo and I love it. My thinspiration is to be able to go to an amusement park and not have to worry if I am going to fit on the ride or not.

When I started this decision in November of 2005, I wrote something down in a journal that became my battle cry:

I don't want to be thin, even thin people have problems.
I don't want to be beautiful, my beauty comes from God.
I don't want to be popular, for He is all I need.
I just want to be healthy.

I took that ball and I ran with it, when I started my diet in February of 2006, what I wrote was constantly on my mind. When I had lost 30 lbs, I felt an amazing joy...and then another thinspiration came around.

Shopping for clothes (which I don't do too often, being male and all) , whether it be online or at a physical store, I wanted to be able to find a shirt or pair of pants I liked, and not be disappointed because I couldn't find it in my size.

I recall how comfortable it was to be thin. How easy to bend over to pick something up, how easily I popped in and out of my husbands little car.

Also, clothes. I kept all my skinny clothes, and I sort through them periodically, planning that I will wear them again.

This board is a major one. I really want to do well on my scores. That is bound to lead to thinness!

And it is getting to the point where all my friends and family know I have been dieting for years, and only getting larger. I have to save face at this point.

There is a girl on a show I watch daily ( the kind that used to sell soap, *blush*) who is SO TINY. But no tinier than I would be without all this padding. So, I look at her and plot and plan...

I didn't realize there was a second page when I made my post. WOW! That is something else, Tom! Keep up the good work!
