i don't have money to spend at gym (in Italy they're quite expensive)
so if i have to work out, i'll do it at home.
but when? in the morning before goin to the office, or in the evening before\after dinner? does it only depends on me, and what make me feel confortable?
thank you so much for your advices and personal experiences!

Okay, on to diet number 5! This month: Neanderthin.
Previous loses are as follows: January, G I Lean ( 4.3kgs ); February, The Hacker's Diet ( 4.5kgs ); March, Johnson UpDayDownDay Diet ( 2.1kgs ); April, YOU: On A Diet ( 700g).
It seems all these diet switches are working. It appeals to my desire for novelty and means I can try diets I never would consider for the long-term. That, and I get to play around collecting data in spreadsheets - always a good thing if you need some work avoidance. Honestly, this is quite fun.

Hi Inga,
I work out in the morning before I go to work. I find there are less things which get in the way of a morning workout ( I am often busy in the evenings ). I also find it more tempting to skip workouts when they are later in the day and I am tired.
Really, it is best to do what works for you. If you have trouble getting out of bed then evening workouts may be better. It is far more important to find a time which you can stick to rather than try and workout at someone else's idea of the 'perfect time'.

I work out at home either on the elliptical or treadmill at night after the kids go to bed. Probably not the most ideal time of the day... but at least I get it done. I am usually too tired to busy in the morning.
I clean up after dinner and help my kids with homework... put them to bed (which sometimes is a work out in itself)...
Then, I go downstairs to work out. I am always exhausted and never feel like doing it but I persevere and get it done. I am always grateful that I got it done.
During my workout, I will either watch a tV show (on my video iPod) or watch a movie on my portable DVD player. Last night, I watched Open Season... not bad movie by the way... I give it three thumbs up.
I have heard that working out in the morning is better for your metabolism... and you also have a propensity to make better choices during the day with your meal plan.... but the evenings are more practical for me.

Inga,
I completely agree with Chereen. You need to find out the best work out time for you.
For me, getting up at 5am to work out is the best. I have tried to work out after school but I always find something else to do.
Good luck!

I lead a very busy life, so doing a diet and making time to work out is actually pretty difficult for me. I work for a school system fixing computers during the day, and work in youth ministry during the nighttime. It keeps me going. But it's harder to stay fit and healthy when you're so busy and convenience takes precedence over health. I'm working to change that. Hopefully, this will help.

I'm a late sleeper, I'm normally waking up 30 minutes before I have to be at work (I wake up fast, no coffee for me), so mornings are not my thing. I workout in the afternoons after I get home, I've structured it so I can go for a run at least 5 times a week, if I can slip some extra workout time (weights or play Wii Sports), then it's a bonus
Inga, it's like everyone said here already, it really all depends on when you want to do it the most, I would suggest trying out both times, early in the morning and late in the afternoon (or around lunch time, if you dare) and see what works best for you. I have yet to find any research that says "You need to work out at this time...."

Hehe - I'm up at 5 too. I guess it's just a matter of whether you are a morning or evening person.

I'm a 23 year old FFB (former fat boy). I'm a grad student at the Univ. of Phoenix. I was married on June 1st, 2007 by a wonderful supportive woman.
I have always been the fat kid so now I've changed that. I started at 305. I lost 80 pounds and was at 225 after I was sick. From Jan 07 to Apr 07, I put on 25 pounds. I then started to lose weight again, but started doing it the right way. I am now 235 and leaner than I was at 225. I'm going to see how close I can get to a 6 pack, but eventually I'll start trying to put on some muscle. Then lean out again.
Six-Pack would be awesome, I've never had one of those. So we'll see. (my photo is me at 305lbs. when i get a good pic of me now at my current weight, i'll post it)

I'm up at 5 everyday whether I work out or not, guess it's habit now.
Workout when you like to workout.
