Hello! I found this article online a while ago and it stuck out to me as the sort of workout I might like to try. I like the focus on large muscle groups instead of on isolation exercises.

http://www.mensjournal.com/healthFitness/0601/work out_exercises.html

What do other traineo folks think of the routine suggested in the article?

I have a fair amount of experience lifting (so, for example, I am confident that I can use correct form for the dead lifts), but I have not been in the weight room for about 18 months. Do you think this program would be a reasonable one to start with as I resume my weight training? Are there other workouts you would suggest?

Thanks for any comments,
/au

I remember when this came out and gave it a whirl, hell anything different is worth giving a shot. Nothing wrong with the program, like many. It's just taking compound exercises with short rest intervals and running you through. It'll kick your ass until you adjust to the swing of it all. If you haven't been into weights in over a year I'd ramp into it over the first month.

Document it all and when you find you hit the plateau shift the gears around.

Looks very doable. Thank you Andy for the advice on ramping up. I have a bad habit of plowing into the gym beating myself raw and then quiting ... this easing into things is a different approach but has been rewarding thus far.
