My morning routine is horrible. I go to bed way too late... I hang on to the mattress as long as I can... and thenscramble off to work. I eat one of my meals once I ge to work...
This is a habit that I really need to improve upon.

I am 23 years old and apart of the big kid world. I work in the loop of Chicago and live out in the suburbs with my parents (the rent is free). I had a great time in college... and have the extra pounds to prove it. My goal is to get myself back into the best shape of my life.

So, for all you earlier risers... any suggestions on how a snooze-button addict can become and early riser?

Hook your alarm clock up to a garden sprinkler.

My fitness regimen includes stationary cycling, light weight training and lots of walking around NYC. I'm a graduate of WeightWatchers and an enthusiastic advocate of its balanced approach to weight loss. I'm sure that I drink too much coffee and get too little sleep. :)
My goals are to maintain my weight in a healthy BMI/BF % range and forestall the toll of advancing age. :)
I think Traineo's established a great community and appreciate the support and information we share.

Take a look at Steve Pavlina's suggestions.

I am 29 years old and have grown passionate about fitness and health! Overall, I have lost and kept off a little over 40 pounds, and I have about 20 or so more that I would like to take off. This last year has been tough and distracting in many ways, and I am back to work now! I am revisiting Traineo, because this site and the people here were instrumental in helping me lose my original 40 pounds so I am back! I regret that because of time constraints I won't be able to be AS active in the forums as I used to, but I will certainly try to stay in there and reconnect with old friend as well as make new ones.
My fitness goals remain the same as before as I haven't achieved them yet: *GOAL 1 = 140 lbs Target Date = 7/31/08 Date Met = TBD CURRENT FITNESS GOALS: Run a 5K, improve flexibility enough to do the splits, be able to do 50 pushups in a row, be able to do a pull-up, learn to do a hand stand and then hand stand pushups. :)

NYC - great article thanks!
I also could benefit from an extra hour in my day, and I think I will use some of the pointers in that arcticle.
My current schedule in the moring should (and mostly does) go like this:
6:00AM - alarm
6:15AM - get up
6:30-8:00AM - workout
8:00-8:30AM - breakfast, do the dishes
8:30-8:55AM - shower and get ready for work
9:00AM-9:15AM - get to work (sometimes I walk so it takes me until 9:15 to get in.)
With an extra hour in the morning, I could get into work earlier to have a break in the middle of the day, or I could do my daily prayer/devotions session first thing in the morning which I would love.

Contact me if you'd like to join any of the Happiness Manifesto-related teams listed on my 43 Things. I think you'll find some like-minded people who also appreciate the value of morning ritual.

May as well have a cheeseburger, Stargucks is way too sweet. Peets does much better, but I think they're Pacific Coast only. It is a hassle to make from scratch.
@NYC
Been wondering for awhile where the happiness manifesto came from.
