The pushups and the shovelgove are gonna be more of an upper body work out.  Throw some squats, deadlifts, and or lunges in the mix. From Couch to 5k to Marathon
Zero to One Hundred Push-Ups in Six Weeks

I want to lose weight and some muscle while doing it but I do not  want to spend the money on a gym until I have lost at least 30 pounds.
