I would replace the breakfast with a healthier cereal. Maybe like a Fiber One or Kashi cereal. Good sources of fiber.

Figure out what your basal, or resting, metabolic rate is (just Google for a calculator). If you provide an estimate of your average daily physical activity, some of them will provide you with an estimate of your total daily calorie expenditure.

Then your goal is to create a calorie deficit--in other words, you need to burn more energy than you consume every day. Aim for a deficit of about 500 calories through a combination of diet and exercise.

Since you'll likely be restricting your calories, aim to eat the most nutrient-dense foods you can find. Look for foods high in protein and fiber, try to avoid added sugars, and research "good fats." Lean meats and fatty fish, low- or no-fat dairy products, nuts, whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables are all good options.

As for your training, you may want to consider adding strength training to your routine to preserve muscle while you're losing some of the extra weight. You can do a lot with just your bodyweight if you scour the net a bit--look for Craig Ballantyne's videos on Youtube for a good start.

I'm not saying that this is the only way to do it, but these are the fundamentals of the program I'm following, and it seems to be working for me...

Hi Spitfire T .......this is what everyone desires to do.There are many ways that can be adopted to gain weight loss.
Energy needs and weight loss

Your body uses food for energy. It stores any excess energy as fat. This means if you eat more food than your body needs for daily activities and cell maintenance, you will gain weight.

To lose weight, you need to get your body to use up these stores of fat. The most effective way to do this is to:

* reduce the amount of calories you eat

* increase your levels of activity.
