I decided I would give this program a try starting this week. I am going to go up to the local track instead of doing it at my gym.

Hopefully week 1 goes smoothly!

Hey... I just started too! A little on the ouch side... but otherwise good. I'm using a treadmil... I think I had my incline too high 3.5 (yeah... that's too high for a start)... my hips hurt a bit... my calves are sore during the run... but other than that... felt pretty good... I wear a heart rate monitor to make sure I stay at least 119... but usually get up to 135 during the run portion...

How was day one?

I started the Couch to 5K program a few months ago. I stretched it out because on some weeks, I just did not feel ready to move on, so I repeated the previous week. When I started, I didn't think I'd make it through the first five minute run, but now I'm up to 28 minutes of running! This is the longest I've ever run at one time in my entire life.

So I just wanted to say -- stick with the program, because it really does work! It's a great way to get moving. Don't be afraid to take longer and repeat a week every once in a while. Better to do that than to burn out because you are pushing yourself too hard!

Day 1 went well. I am probably going to stretch the program out a little bit because of my ingrown toe nail. Sometimes if I just take it easy it doesnt start hurting. It is a big pain in my butt.

Jeez R... have you had a Dr. look at it? I can't imagine that kind of pain while I'm running... I have a pair of crap shoes (that will be replaced on Thursday... that I've been whining about... the toe nail would make it WAYYYY worse.
