My brother just gave me a tub of it because he said it sucks, and he was shaking the whole workout and couldn't sleep . So I am a little hesitant to try it. I want to know from people who've tried it if it makes your heart feel weird. From reviews of it, people said things like "I felt like my heart was going to explode" and "my heart was like Redbull on crack."

I am 38 years of age and work as an IT Manager.
I have gradually put on weight since leaving University and vowed that in 2008 I would get fit and drop the excess poundage.
My journey started on 3rd Januray when i weighed 226 lbs.
So far so good.... am down to 198 and have lost at least 1.75 lbs every week.
Fitness is much improved and I am feeling pretty good. Must sustain the effort now and achieve my goal.

given all that you are still thinking about trying it?
I use a basic protein shake but personally I wouldnt bother with that one Matt. Are you likley to incorporate it in your regime from now on? If not then I dont see much point in using one tub.
Other people here might know about this product specifically and might give you different advice but for me you would need to know why you needed it and exactly what it would do for you before even considering it.
GL anyway

One Year 19 Lbs lost.
For December 07 to December 08 the job is to lose another 17 lbs.
-- Coming up for nearly a year of Traineo. 22 lbs lost, 13 to go!
What a year! I want to thank Traineo and it's members, and my doctors and friends, and gym, and my walking and running training partner -- my dog -- who all have have been a big part of my recovery from a bad case of pneumonia last August, from high blood pressure in May and June, and support through herniated cervical discs in July August and the present.
Somehow, its been possible to keep the faith and keep going through the neck and arm pain, but even on some of those bad pain days, getting the exercise at the gym, on a C25K run, on a bike ride, or in the surf helps make it bearable.
A year ago -- at least sports-wise, for life is altogether another thing -- I was losing my sense of identity as a surfer and windsurfer, gaining a sense of identity as a cyclist, a runner, 9 months later reentering the surf, losing my ability to ride ... things came and went between hospital visits.
At times, all those things were stripped away -- and just to be able to walk down the block was an accomplishment. There were recoveries and sometimes just advil and bullish efforts.
It's good to be back in the surf and on the bike sometimes, neck/shoulder/arm pain notwithstanding.
My thoughts go out to all those Traineo members out there fighting their own health and spiritual battles...you know we are here in this small way.

Having recently got out of the E.R. because of sustained ventricular tachycardia or atrial fibrillation, for no good reason, and looking at the prospect of an upcoming heart catheterization, (no joke) I don't know why with the report your bro has given you, that you'd even consider messing around with this kind of thing, when another family member from the same gene pool as you has reported not so nice results.
What he said might sound kinda wild but it isn't so much fun when you're in that situation yourself.

Looking to add some muscle over the next few months. Trying to get in those calories and focusing on the compound lifts. We'll see how it all goes :)

NoExplode is used by the majority of kids/weight lifters/guys out there for that 'pump' or rush that it gives. People try to chase the same feeling with caffine or other 'energy' drinks/pills
The problem is that some don't use the right amount and some people react bad to it...
I don't use it and still had great gains. A simple Creatine 1 month on/ 1 month off works just as well. Best way to get good gains while working out with weights is to eat right, consume enough protein (1g per 1lb) and rest. In 6 months I gained 19lbs in muscle. Its about training right and smart vs looking for that 'edge'

I know less than nothing about supplements like this... but I think you answered your own question to be honest!
Why would your brother even give it to you if he thought it was that bad??? Strange... I had a friend who was taking these diet pills and said to me "Oh they're awful I thought I was going to have a heart attack... Here, have some". People love to share the misery lol

I just thought my brother was a wuss. I think NO-Xplode has caffeine, and he can't even drink an energy drink without staying up all night whereas I can drink 3 and pass out, which is why I think it made him have that experience. Also from what I've read, the first 2 or 3 days you're on it are the hardest because you feel weird, but after that you get good pumps.

I'm not gonna bash anybodies advise to you. My personal experience with it has been excellent. I've used it for going on six years with great results each time. Its just like any other supplement, if you overload it you will have negative side effects with it. You should always test your tolerance levels with any supplement or drug you take. The minimum serving is 1 scoop everyday. Start with that and work up to max serving of two scoops, no more than that. Also, keep in mind any medical conditions you may have experience due to any foods or drugs. Be safe and push some weight!!!

I've tried it and was initially happy with the results -- more perceived energy during workouts, and more vascularization in my arms.
In retrospect it might have just been the caffeine and extra exercise doing it. When you spend $50 on a tub of sugared caffeine, you *really* want to believe it works.
In the end I gave it up because I have borderline hypertension and I did notice it raised my blood pressure by 10-20 points.
This thread has a good discussion by actual bodybuilders. It reminded me of another side effect: diarrhea! Wonderful.

I just drank some about 15min ago before I head out to the gym. I have the lemonade flavor, and for 2 seconds after it hits your tongue it tastes like it, then it tastes like crap. So far I feel no different, I will report back how I feel/do at the gym.

I am back. When I arrived at the gym I noticed no gains while saunaing . When I went to bench, I cranked out 2 more reps, but after my second set I couldn't keep the bench straight. It was wobbling and flailing like crazy, even at 135lbs. I grabbed 40lbs dumbbells and did bicep and hammer curls with ease. I noticed that I recovered much faster (30 seconds) whereas I used to take 1-2 minutes to recuperate. When I left the gym I didn't feel tired, just sore. I still won't buy another tub, $40 for a small tub is insane.

I used to get sick from NO-XPlode also... Jittery etc... eyes all crossed. Didn't help my workouts because it would make me panic sometimes.
Superpump 250 + SizeOn is kind of like NO-Xplode and Cell-Mass.
Superpump has caffeine too but much more manageable it is not "intrusive" I have anxiety issues sometimes with caffeine and I am sensitive to it so, I would say it is a good alternative. I am almost done with my first tub and it is working great so far. I have actually taken it just before bed on non- W/O days

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they haev to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is NOTHING.

Wow, your brother sounds like me. "Hey bro, this food tastes like ass, want it?"
It'd have been more convincing if he said "Man, this stuff is awesome, it's actually TOO F'ING GOOD for me to use it anymore... you take it!"

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

Creatine takes a while for most to really see any results.
3g - 5g a day is about all one needs. However the biggest problem is there are not any real 'studies' which are govt. approved on how stuff works.
I spent a long time trying to find all the different articles and studies that have been done on creatine and most stay within that 3-5g a day. Most state that 'loading' doesn't have to be done as over time the different group studies show people even out.
The range on how long one should take it varies from 1 month to 1.5 months on average and all then reccomend a month off. The amazing thing people don't realize is the creatine stays in your system for a while and if you eat red meat you'll still be taking in creatine from that.
The 'new' big thing out there is beta analine kick. Most companies are now putting it into their products. No-Explode now has a much higher priced version with this in it, and other suppliments are putting it in now too.
Studies show (again this is usually a college or pharm not the govt) that it also helps to recover faster and that your body does not run out of the ATP needed when doing workouts. It helps you to gain an extra rep or two due to this. It gives a 'feeling' that some people like after taking it (best taken on an empty stomach). it can cause a flushing of the skin for some people. Best results are seen after a few weeks of taking it as your body becomes saturated with it.
I took creatine and beta analine during a 4 month period (1 on 1 off for creatine, all on for beta analine) and saw some good results. But I also ate well, took in a good amount of protein and got some good rest.
Keys to good body building or muscle gaining are simple:
Workout properly - good lifts, right weights, good rest
Eat right - Get protein, intake enough calories to see growth
Get Rest - Sleep, sleep, sleep, and give muscles the time off they need.
After that then you can add the suppliments to help but never expect them to fix the short comings in those three areas above.

Dave, I noticed that effect during creatine loading phases, but not the normal maintenance phase.
Other people have noticed it too.
NO-Xplode has a little creatine in it, but I was also taking some generic micronized creatine powder.
I did notice faster recovery from muscle soreness in between workouts, but creatine also gave me a bloated look, especially my face. I also had higher creatinine levels in some routine tests that had my doctor concerned. After quitting, my muscles look a lot smaller but are rock hard so I can't complain.
