I'm having sooo much trouble losing it...Awhile ago i thought doing crunches would get rid of it, but that built bulk muscle and made the fat even more visible...It sucked. So Now I'm still trying to lose it because #1 I want to be healthier, and #2 I want to look good in a bikni. Any tips on how to lose it? (I'm looking at 76 days to lose 30 lbs, including the belly flubs)

I'm so proud of my abs....so I had to post them! Been weight training pretty seriously for the past 4 mos and I'm finally noticing some definition. Still have a way to go to get the much desired six pack, but off to a good start!

High intensity interval training and SUPER clean diet: lots of fruits, veggies, water, whole grains and healthy fats like avocado and almonds. Good luck!!!

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

That's 3lbs a week? You might want to adjust your expectations...

it might not necessarily be 3 lbs a week if you haven't been paying much attention to your fitness and nutrition much lately. it's pretty easy to have a ten-pound spike right off the bat.
still, with eleven weeks ahead of you, aim for 22 pounds or some aesthetic purpose such as inches or being happier looking in the mirror (though, you should be happy now).

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 240, 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195, 190
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.

I haven't tried relacor, but I heard that skeletor is pretty effective.
Welcome Lianna, have you already started workin' yourself like a rented mule at the gym?
As stated, a major clean and balanced calorie controlled diet along with daily trips to Sweatsville might just get you there, depending on your dedication.
Use the force!

It'd take a lot of cardio work to lose 3 lbs a week. One thing you'll wanna look out of is your amount of water intake. It's easy to drop 5 lbs in a week and think its a real loss, but it's probably just water. If you monitor the amount of water you drink, you'll get back all the water lost from sweating, which you'll need anyway.
Look at maybe... 1-2 pounds a week. Three is possible, just on the harder end.
The only fitness payoffs come from hard work. Even diets and pills say results are seen in combination with exercise.

I'm a rugby player on sabbatical in order to have more time to finish my dissertation, but the down side of this is my lack of motivation to exercise. I've gained about 25 lbs over the past two years.

90% of my excess weight sticks on my belly. I'm certain it's from the stress and alcohol. I've also thought about ab exercises but it's the excess calories. So reducing calories and increases cardio is the only way but not the easy way. GOOD LUCK.

Looking to add some muscle over the next few months. Trying to get in those calories and focusing on the compound lifts. We'll see how it all goes :)

Clean eating, good cardio and some weights tossed in for muscle development = a good program for weight loss/toning.
Journal what you eat, take out the junk as you see it, try to stay in that 1800-2000 calorie range, and get at least 5 days exercising in.
Thats a simple program that can help you to your goals Theres alot more details that go into it, but thats the skinny on getting skinny

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they haev to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is NOTHING.

There's no way to target fat loss on your body, short of elective surgery. Your best bet is overall fitness, and diet is the most significant part of that (I personally feel that what you eat contributes a good 80% to how healthy you are, regardless of amount of exercise.)
Quoting: pboyle00 It'd take a lot of cardio work to lose 3 lbs a week.
I strongly disagree with the sentiment that cardio is how you lose fat. Cardio isn't BAD for that goal, but ultimately the best way to burn fat off your body is to build muscle. Too much cardio will actually cause your body to cannibalize muscle mass, and muscle actually burns calories just for existing in your body. Cardio helps, but if your goals are purely aesthetic, focus on interval training, HIIT is great but even just going for 15 intervals of 1 minute on (ie. 10mph) and 1 minute off (3mph) will do much more for you than long duration runs at a sustained pace and will only take 30 minutes.
I personally don't believe that 3lbs a week of loss is unrealistic, although everyone is different and pushing that hard will put you at risk to sacrifice muscle which, again, is bad. I lost 75lbs in less than 5 months and cut my body fat percentage down by 15% which breaks down to just under 3.5lbs a week, but, not to talk myself up TOO much, I'm not sure I personally know anyone else aside from a handful of people on these forums that could maintain my level of intensity.
Quoting: Servinghim try to stay in that 1800-2000 calorie range,
That might actually be high for her, depending on her lean body mass. I would honestly focus less on HOW MANY calories you're eating and think more about WHAT you're eating. Most people eat until they're full, and that's the worst thing you can do... eat until you're not hungry (learning the difference is the hardest part) and try to eat 6 times a day (smaller meals, more frequently.) Cut out most of your junk food (we all still crave our Doritos or Twinkies now and then, so don't feel bad if you treat yourself OCCASIONALLY... like once a week or less), but, for the most part, try to avoid eating "empty calories" - give your body fuel when it wants it, but make sure that it's good stuff. You're going to have to experiment to find out just how much you need to eat to maintain or gain muscle mass but you should NEVER aim to LOSE muscle.
Also, there's been an influx of adbots/spammers selling produces and Viagra and what not here and on a few other fitness forums I've checked recently... probably because the summer weather is coming so these spammers feel like they can make a quick buck since folks are starting (like you) to think about swimsuit season, but there are no products that will magically make you lose fat or look better... it takes hard word and time so save your money. That being said, you should track your body fat % as often as you can, so the only purchase I recommend is a set of calipers or a scale that measures it.
And here's my obligatory Abs Diet plug (despite the fact that I don't profit in any way if people buy or don't buy it): IF you feel like you really want to follow someone elses program or do some reading, the Abs Diet by David Zinczenko is an excellent read. Personally I didn't follow it to the letter, I didn't even read it until I was a few months into my own program and had established my own patterns, but it came highly recommended to me and lines up with a lot of my own thinking.

I have to agree with the eating smart + cardio.
If you find it hard to eat well at work, so I drink EAS Myoplex Lite shakes. 170 cals, 7g fiber, 20g of protein and 2.5g of fat. awesome.
remember that most cities have pick-up games (like basketball or soccer) and often have leagues also. That's another alternative to being a rat on the ferris wheel or whatever that thing is called

BTW, I'm following GNC's Lean Shake 1500 calorie diet plan. That's also something attainable. The GNC Lean Shake is okay, but it's not as tasty as the Myoplex. And it has less Protein.

If you're pear shaped you could have insulin resistance, which in a nutshell means you could be sensitive to high glycemic loads during your meals. From your picture, you look like you're padded all over though, so just cut back on the calories sensibly, up the exercise, and make sure you keep your macro nutrient ratios in check.
