Oh, wow! That is weird! I mean I talk to myself on occasion, but it's not loud groaning. It's like, "Come on, just 20 more seconds!" Far from pornographic.

Haha! I guess that's true!! That would be funny though to give a man an exact time limit like that.
It's funny how you can read one sentence in 2 completely different ways. I really didn't even think about it like that when I posted it!

Damn, these all serve to make me very happy that I do my CrossFit workouts at home or at the park, with my own dumbbells, kettlebells, pull up bar, and the nearby track.

I got a new one on Tuesday. Sometimes I like to go and set in the sauna for about 15 minutes. People get on my nerves when they talk about how darn hot the sauna is. I'm like, get out then!! It's SUPPOSED to be Fin'g hot!!!

Started going to the gym 2/2008. Doing mostly cardio / elliptical. I am shooting for looking drastically different by August for my wife's family reunion. My ultimate goal is to be 180 by the end of December.

OMG. I could not stop laughing reading this thread. I too get the old men that stand in the buff and have a conversation in the locker room. The gym supplied towels and I don't understand the appeal of that.

The older you get, the more you lose your sense of shame.
I wouldn't necessarily say they find naked conversations appealing, more so that they just don't really give a crap.

There is definitely a mentality thing with guys getting changed in the locker room and it isn't just age.
I used to play a lot of rugby and at the end of the game you get undressed shower off, new threads on then off to the bar. After copious amounts of injuries my rugby days slowed down and I joined a football team (or soccer, your side of the pond). I couldn't believe how all of the players after a match would just slink off to a corner and face the wall to get undressed, then put their clothes back on straight away over their muddy legs??
I'm not all that excited about being naked in a room full of guys, but there's no reason to be scared of having a shower either. That's just weird!

That's true Dean! There's a line in there and I don't really think it's all that fine either. Undress, do whatcha gotta do, dress, no big deal.
I don't like it when people bring there 7 year old sons into the locker room while I'm changing. That makes me uncomfortable.

My gym does not allow children of the opposite sex in the locker room. There is a separate "family" changing room for that.

Thats a Shame.
The one thing that I hate is the group of high schoolers who come in (5 to 10) and all take turns hogging up 5 machines at once.
Other than that I am really starting to like my gym.

I'm trying to get back into running as a way of staying healthy and getting fit. I've got two races this year--A 10K in May and a 10 Miler in October.
My training includes 3 days of running, 2 days of cross-training and 2 days of weight lifting. I'm trying to eat a little better as well. More veggies, good protein and whole grains.

I don't like it when guys hit on me at the gym--especially when I'm in the middle of a set! Please don't start talking to me about how you're new in town and maybe I could show you around. Yeesh.

That reminds me of a Seinfeld episode called "The Jimmy" where a character "Jimmy" refers to himself in the third person when talking.

What do old people talk about?
I got out of the shower headed to my locker just to see two naked old guys just talking about nothing one of each side of my locker.
In my head I was like ok... there just going to be there for a little more I head over to the sauna for about 10 minutes take a shower and there still there.
Come on...
I ended up interrupting them and went on to finally leaving. Ugh happened to me 2 days ago.

http://anotherfatguy.wordpress.com/ I'm looking at a total weight loss of over 130 lbs (60 kg for those of you in Europe like me...), from 150 kg to 90 kg (330 lbs to 198 lbs). I'm a 36 year old man and am REALLY tired of... well being tired.
So far I've been training like a mofo, and have totally revisited my diet - so far so good, 1/3 of my goal HAS been met - YIPPEE!!
Have met some great people here, and looking forward to meeting even more here on traineo - don't be afraid to bombard me with motivation - I'll take all you can give me :)

I've learned to accept the girls that put makeup ON to workout (obviously working out is not their highest priority at the gym...), but today took the cake -
I'm on the treadmill, and Barbie steps on the elliptical in front of me... wearing A CARDIGAN.
Pretty cardigan, pink and baby blue, with a couple of ribbons in it to add to the "girlie" effect...
I accept the fact that she's in need of a date and has decided to try and find one at the gym, but A CARDIGAN???

People who walk on the treadmill and make me wait for 30 minutes. I was once at this gym and this guy would walk on the treadmill in front of the TV, put it at full blast, and walk on it for like 90 minutes.

I'd LOVE to bootcamp up those fru-fru girls ole school. Sweat that makiage right off their botoxed faces, heheh! And it surely wouldn't be over 'til way after the cryin'...
