I'm a typical stress eater, and I've been extremely stressed out for the past two years. Yeah, recipe for disaster! I can't say I look too bad, and the 22 fat kilos I want to lose to get back to my original weight do make me more curvaceous, but let's face it - it's just not who I am. To feel comfortable again, I definitely want to lose those extra kilos!
I'm mainly using Traineo to get some feedback, and to be able to keep track of my exercise. I only use the diet log sporadically, as the food itself isn't really my problem, but rather my notion of food as something that reduces stress.

Ladytron, Equatronic, Welle: Erdball, Apoptygma Berzerk, and other obscure, usually European electronica acts do it for me. ;P

On May 11, 2006 I choose to make this the last year of obesity. I have been an obese person all of my adult life and overweight most of my childhood. In 2002 when I was at my heaviest, I weighed approximately 430 lbs. I say approximately because the medical scales I had access to could not weigh me as they stopped at 350 lbs. I have made a lifestyle change; no fad diets, no starvation, only honest changes in diet and regular physical activity.

I just scanned thorough all of the replies and was surprised that no one has mentioned DJ Steveboy's Podrunner! These podcasts are incredible! Each podcast averages about 1 hour playtime. I found out about Podrunner while looking at the new Nike iPod component on iTunes. All the comments on iTunes recommended saving your money and subscribing to the Podrunner podcast for free. The best move I ever made.
If you have iTunes, simply do a search for Podrunner. If you do not have iTunes, you can find it at http://www.djsteveboy.com/mixes.html.

This is a semi playlist of what I like to listen to while working out. I try to stay away from the music that I love (Sufjan Stevens, Matt Pond etc) which tends to be on the softer side. Its harder to push yourself when you are listening to someone play the lute.
"From Her Lips To God's Ears (The Energizer)" Against Me!
"Fashion Zombies!" Aquabats
"Sabotage" The Beastie Boys
"An Honest Mistake" The Bravery
"Epic" Faith No More
"Perfection Through Silence" Finch
"Twenty Below" Hidden In Plain View
"Club Foot" Kasabian
"I Against I" Mos Def
"Rock Star" N*E*R*D
"Fight Till You Die" Pennywise
"Society" Pennywise
"Don't Stop Me Now" Queen
"Prophecy" Remy Zero
"I Don't Want To Fall In Love" She Wants Revenge
"Snakes on a Plane" Cobra Starship
"I Want to Hear What you Have Got to Say" The Subways
"Touched" Vast
"Aside" The Weakerthans
"Broadcast To The World" Zebrahead
"Hello Tomorrow" Zebrahead
"Rescue Me" Zebrahead
"Type A" Zebrahead
"Are You For Real?" Zebrahead
"Waste Of Mind" Zebrahead
Most of these songs are VERY upbeat.
Hope they help.

I like weight training, cardio cross training (from treadmill running to kickboxing) and above all Yoga.
I like music, movies, reading fiction, travel, exercise. I am vegetarian because I love animals. I love cats best.

Bloody hell attempt number 4 at keeping this jig up. I've started now a "blog of shame" to try and shame myself into action.
Bought a weighing scale today (01 July 2008) for the first time so I can keep a close eye on my weight. Time to up the activity and lose some of this fat!
Wonder where I will be in 6 months (1st Jan 2009)...

Billy Talent - Red Flag
The Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
Trivium - Anthem (We are the fire): Tends to be my favoured cardio tune
Lost Prophets - Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja
Lost Prophets - Never gonna catch tomorrow
And one that always makes me smile... Sugar Hill Gang - Rappers Delight

My fitness regimen includes stationary cycling, light weight training and lots of walking around NYC. I'm a graduate of WeightWatchers and an enthusiastic advocate of its balanced approach to weight loss. I'm sure that I drink too much coffee and get too little sleep. :)
My goals are to maintain my weight in a healthy BMI/BF % range and forestall the toll of advancing age. :)
I think Traineo's established a great community and appreciate the support and information we share.

I'm not an expert on this and, therefore, don't know what's involved...I was just thinking, though, that it would be great if selected tracks could be compiled so that we could download them.

Although it is not an audio playlist contribution...
I thought that I would share how I get through my elliptical workouts.
In August, I started watching Battlestar Gallatica. I downloaded the mini-series, season 1, season 2 and bought a season pass for season 3.
I will get 43 minutes of Elliptical in by watching Battlestar Gallatica on my video iPod. It is very an action oriented series and it is my 'reward' as I work out.
It was a great motivator for me and I thought I would share the experience.

Those of you who work out at home may enjoy using last.fm, a social networking site founded on its members interest in music.
The more you use the site, the more it learns about you, and the more accurately it recommends tracks you may like (in this sense, it's similar to Pandora).
The site features Groups whose members are interested in particular genres (Techno and Hard Rock, for example). Perhaps we could band together and form a Cardio Workout group!
If you join last.fm, I invite you to use its Shoutbox feature to stop by and say hi.

I particularly enjoyed a fast-paced track in one of DJ Orion's (Juska Rantanan's) mixes on Exercise Radio yesterday morning.
He maintains a site here, offers podcasts through iTunes, and seems very willing to correspond with interested listeners.

My job is great but keeps me at my desk too much, and I'm the office chocoholic as well! I have decided that before my 40th birthday (this year) I will run a 5K. I have begun the training. Wish me luck!

I go with the industrial/metal/techno stuff. Rob Zombie, NIN, Thrill Kill Kult, Lacuna Coil, Static-X, Fear Factory, Prodigy, and so on.
However, I have different stategies for outside vs inside workouts. Outside I can really zone out and appreciate the music, but I can't do that inside. What really works best on the treadmill or elliptical is both visual and audio stimulation. I usually put on a show that I like AND turn on my mp3 player. I'm a multitasker at heart anyway, so having techno music on low while watching Animal Planet seems to do the trick.

Hey, I'm a lot like you...I need to lose weight. Started at 332 last year and my goal is 190-200.
Since we're in this together, I'm asking for an agreement. If you agree to motivate me, then I will absolutely commit to not wasting your time nor energy, to take your tips and motivation seriously and of course reciprocate to ANYBODY out there that is looking for an honest, candid and sincere motivator while changing their lifestyle.
Do we have a deal? (Handshake and a pat on the back!)
My podcast/blog is really just a way for me to remain accountable for my weekly progress and for once and for all change my life FOREVER.
I hope that I didn't bore you, but a profile (to me) is something that you can read, understand where I'm coming from and hopefully have a good, clear mental snapshot as to who is behind the typing.
I hope to help as much as possible as well as get valuable tips and support from this site. Thanks for reading and I hope that you'll come to me when you need motivation or a little kick to get you going. Man, my fingers hurt. My goal weight is per month, NOT the overall goal. I find that monthly goals are a lot more motivating and recognizable rather than saying "I need to lose 90 pounds or so".
Each month, my goal will change. BTW, my monthly goal is at least 8 pounds loss.
Peace and lets get going!

Just as a point of interest. I am a music lover as well as a musician. To avoid any problems with the copyright agencies, I create mixes of "pod friendly" music and post them to my podcast.
Yeah, another plug. But this is what I do to keep me motivated. They are called zapmixes and are available on my RSS feed.
The latest one (#4) has a very diverse group of tunes and the list is posted on my blog. Yes, they are all free to distribute and copy as you wish.
