Today I had breakfast (shock horror).. good old fashioned rolled oats, not cooked, in 1 cup of milk with one bannana. And 2 cups of milk with added chocolate Nesquick.

The other day I wanted to look up why it seemed like I wasn't able to remember things as well as I used to. Considering I usually eat chips for lunch, I gathered it could be vitamins. So I wrote a list down of what foods contain what vitamins to help you remember things better. And alot of these included oatmeal, some lean beef, chicken, milk, bannanas and more. So I worked out that I should have this for breakfast, and chicken breasts for lunch.

I was just going to cook up a chicken breast fillet for lunch (no skin). Add some tereaki sauce perhaps, and add some stir fry veggies. Does this sound good?

Is there any other suggestions for things that I can do with chicken? I'm more of a fan of chicken than meat

love the lunch! you sound like the kind of person who would dig the "12 superfoods" recipe book. it's called something like that, and has recipes using oats, salmon, berries, nuts, spinach etc- all the high-nutrient foods. try marinating chicken breast in different ways, then cooking it and slicing it over a baby spinach and lettuce salad. wrap your chicken up with some alfalfa or broccoli sprouts in a low-carb tortilla wrap with some 2% cheddar cheese. mix it with refried beans, sprinkle with a little more of that 2% cheddar, and cook it like a grilled cheese between two more of those low-carb tortillas (they're high in fiber and low in calories).

although you didn't ask, just one word of caution- you might want to space your milk out a little more in the day. I don't remember how old you are, but chicas under 30 need to get 3-4 servings of calcium rich foods a day, and you hit yours all at breakfast! that's awesome for your bones, but remember skim milk still has calories, so everything in moderation and you will win bigtime.

Thanks heaps for the receipe tip If I find the book i'll give it a look.

About the milk, well i'm 19, and usually I dont drink any milk at all. It would be hard for me to have it during the day because sometimes if I have it too fast I feel a bit sick. So I think its good to have it for breakfast, I hope this is ok. Think of it as having orange juice usually for breakfast

Thanks minu

Guess what, i've finished studying for a term, I can now focus on exercising again. I know theres no excuses but I sorta stopped when I had to do two programming classes and was spending all my time trying to do it, which left me little time to want to exercise. But I promised myself that I wouldnt stop totally and that I would pick it up when I finished my term. So for a month I didn't exercise ... now... I'm starting back up. Sorry I couldnt participate in exersing, I feel like I let you guys down. But it was really hard work and was difficult to get in that frame of mind.

But yeah, i'm back... im eating heatlhy as you can see.

By the way, is chicken ok to eat? I have one chicken breast fillet usually for lunch. I just wanna lose some weight to get those abs and some toning all over, so I need to fix up my diet mostly. I eat the veggies and chicken, with oatlmeal at breakfast. Good?

I crock pot turkey all the time. It's super-tender and delicious.

For breakfast, I mainly eat cereal. I don't always eat the really healthy ones - but I do try to get ones that are either healthy or have lots of vitamins. Cheerios with honey is pretty good. I've been purchasing Market Watch from Target as their cereals are as good as the name brands but less expensive.

Lately I've been on a grape nuts kick for breakfast. 1/2 cup of grape nuts with either skim milk or greek yogurt and then some whey protein...usually at 7:30am (shortly after my workout). I give myself up to 450 calories or so for breakfast. Then follow with a 250-300 calorie snack at 10am to 10:30am, which is usually something like a toasted whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter, some almonds and an apple, or beef jerky and a fiber bar.

It's been a while since I made them, but smoothies can be great for breakfast too. Here's a recipe I like:

*12oz milk (I use skim milk, but some people prefer soy for the texture)
*~10 medium sized frozen strawberries
*1 average-sized banana (frozen and sliced)
*2-3 ice cubes (for texture)
*A dash of honey or agave nectar for sweetening (to taste)
*1 scoop whey protein

For about 600 calories, this gets you a lot of protein, some good fiber, potassium, and some complex carbs...without all of the added sugar of your typical juice-based smoothie.
