By the way, does anybody watch MythBusters? In episode 91, they tested cures for hot pepper heat. Milk won out.
This article tells you where to stick that Habanero! Even cancer cells would rather die than eat hot peppers.

Quoting: covertress Looking for 800,000 Scoville Unit hot sauce?
What about 7 million Scoville Unit stuff? Yep, not a misprint. Don't be too fast to try this absolute killer liquid.
I saw a segment on the Food Network where idiots were trying this stuff on a nacho chip. They'd sprinkle a few drops on and put the chip in their mouth. Complete foolishness.

I'm basically trying to get in shape and be healthy...
diaryofthefatman.blogspot.com
I like participating in sports but I want to be more competitive. Also I'm with Kevin Spacey from American Beauty - good reason :)
I'm looking to lose about a hundred lbs in the course of a year, and basically to just consistently get better. And I love comments and messages, so keep 'em coming!
I talk about goal setting a lot, how about I actually set some?
Well it's time to revisit goals... I didn't do too well with my end of year plans, but learned some things and changed my plans up a bit as I went along. During the 5-7 weeks of the year, I was able to put on about 8-10lbs of muscle, and stay at the same actual weight. The plan is to start the Strong Lifts 5X5 program to supplement the Couch to 5K program, and that should last the next 8-12 weeks.
I'm updating goals as well. Lowering cholesterol remains a goal, and I'll find out about that at the end of August.
Been bouncing around a bit, but getting a little stricter again and will monitor that over the next 3-4 weeks. I feel poised to really lose some weight again, so I'm looking forward to the healthy eating and additional exercise.

That would be cruel Dave! Somebody could wind up with their throat clsoed or something!
Btw, I added 5 or 6 jalapeƱo slices to my tuna salad today as a result of this thread and yum! I will be adding spicy stuff to my foods more often.

I'm late to the party here, but for those of you that cut up your own hot peppers at home, wear gloves! Then you won't have those issues when rubbing your eyes or going to the bathroom (except gloves will not cure the "ring of fire" problem from eating hot peppers). You can pick up a box of gloves at any drugstore or reusable gloves work fine too. Just wash them off well!

Started going to the gym 2/2008. Doing mostly cardio / elliptical. I am shooting for looking drastically different by August for my wife's family reunion. My ultimate goal is to be 180 by the end of December.

i Slappy
I'm a slappy geek (IT Systems Analyst at work, Gadget lover at play) and ready to do something to change my state of slappiness...time to de-slappify myself.
Unfortunately, my love for all things tech is, by it's nature, a very sedentary lifestyle which has lead me down the path of being slappy (overweight/obese, in case you were curious). After having three different doctors strongly urge me to lose weight and a blood pressure reading of 190/110...this new path became an absolute must.
I've joined the Weight Watcher ranks and found it to be a great gateway to my 'lifestyle change'. It has been a tremendous help to reducing my calories, while helping get in my daily intake of fruits, vegetables, calcium, water, omega-3's, etc...
As for fitness, I have been using my eliptical trainer at home because running outdoors was a little harsh on my knees. This has helped to ease my hand off the TiVo remote and onto the home exercise equipment. I now watch digitally recorded shows while huffing and puffing. =P
I look forward to meeting new and interesting people on here and finding new 'thinspirations' and motivators.

Sriracha goes well with just about everything. I mostly like it on chicken but also have experimented using it with Popcorn (As a dipping sauce). I won't go as far as using it on Oatmeal though (Doing a search in google found people actually doing this).

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they haev to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary.
Impossible is NOTHING.

I tried some Liquid Stoopid hot sauce over the weekend. This stuff is real hot with a nice smokey flavor. I added 2 drops to a marinade with about 3 pounds of chicken, and I could still detect a huge amount of heat.

Words to live by: "Now's the time to grab the steering wheel of your life. Delve deep within yourself and take responsibility for your health and behavior. Ask yourself hard questions and face the truth of what needs to be done. Weight loss is not always easy or fair but you are the only one that can lose weight for you. Take a turn for the better!"
Goals: 1) Lose ~45 pounds 2) Work out at least 6 days a week 3) Eat healthier consistently
I will reward myself at the following weights: 235, 230, 225, 220, 215, 205, 200, 195
I will reassess my goals after I have met the above goals.
