I too finished lunch.

Delicious summer veggie salad (peppers, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, etc)
Little scoop of healthy mashed potato (home made)
3-4 pieces of red meat turkey with small amount of homemade gravy.

It was Saturday night's leftovers.

Lunch: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat with a little slice of cojack cheese and hot mustard. Also a bunch of baby carrots. Tasty

For dinner tonight I made my No-Cream Alfredo over white beans, with turkey breast and a lil, (for me, more for Hub), whole wheat pasta. Washed down with a small glass o' Reisling.

And another Pink Lady for dessert.

I was oversnacking this afternoon! couple servings of dry roasted peanuts (unsalted) and a small apple... for lunch though i made a casserole w/ ground turkey, white and pinto beans, pearl barley, kale, broccoli and zuchini (something I can pack up and eat all week).

Leftovers:

A ceviche of leftover...
• charcoal-grilled Scottish salmon filet (from the weekend),
• chopped fresh cilantro,
• leftover finely chopped onions (from tacos the other day),
• lime juice
• DL Jardine's "Texas Champagne" hot sauce.

Leftover Greek salad and a stuffed grape leaf (from yesterday).

Some of those naughty, new tostitos 'flour tortilla' chips (0 trans fat).
Avoid these, because once you start on them you want to eat about 30.

The greek salad yesterday helped with the weight loss, so going back to that playbook today.

For dinner,
8 oz Salmon filet w/asian-y maranade
1/4 cup whole grain cous cous
1 cup steamed broccoli/cauliflower

Minu-I like this thread, but eventually it's going to give me ulcers when I read what other people are eating. By the way, what the h is a pink lady?

It's a kind of apple and they're sublime. They are sweet, but tart, the flesh is firm and crunchy, they are copiously JUICY and usually pretty sizable.

I think they were "born" in Australia a couple hundred years ago. GO AUSSIES, is all I can say about those lil balls of yum.

Pink Ladies are probably my fav apple! I haven't seen them consistently in the grocers here though... Lately I've been buying the 3lb bag of either jonas or galas and leaving it in the office - small apples and for only $2.99 it lasts all week+ and is a great snack.

All this talk about food and I'm ready to eat again, despite having breakfast 2hrs ago (omelette w/ 2 eggs, 1 white, spinache, salsa, topped w/ cottage cheese - yum!).

Thanks for clearing that up; I had visions of you eating a twinkie or a ho-ho and I wasn't sure how anyone could consciously work that into their diet?

Breakfast:
1/2 cup granola w/half scoop of chocolate whey
1 large banana

Heheh! I don't think I've had a Twinkie/Ho-Ho type o' thing in like--a decade, probably two.

And yes, I'm sure glad the Ladieeees are around these parts right now.

My last nibble consisted of a bunch of in-the-shell peanuts, (about 20), a super fresh carrot and some surprisingly sweet strawberries, washed down with lots o' water.

I know I posted last on this thread, but dinner tonight was so YUM that I just had to share:

Home made whole wheat Roti bread topped with light cream cheese, red onions and smoked salmon, served with a loverly salad of Mache lettuce, (which is a lot like baby Watercress), with cherry tomatoes, crumbled feta, more red onion accents, lemon juice, a bit o' balsamic and a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil.

We washed it all down with a couple flutes of "Cremant de Alsace", a lovely sparkling white wine from where else--Alsace.

IT WAS GOOOOOD.

I had the same lunch as I posted the last time, I had half a cinnamon bun (so you can work treats into your diet, just don't underestimate and compromise elsewhere)

and a small bowl of special K vanilla almond for breakfast.

plus I did a enjoyable HIIT run right after breakfast where I burnt more than I consumed.

GREAT DAY! and it's sunny out!!

I had the other half this evening :S I checked the calories, each bun is about 400 and I choose the ones with the least amount of frosting and the smallest.

So I had that split 200, 200, but omg was that 400 worth it!\

I'm having some for breakfast tomorrow morning can't wait to wake up!

I don't know, that sounds pretty good, what with the cous-cous and the salmon fillet.

If you can figure out how to do a reasonably authentic algerian/morrocan marga with vegetables and a little lamb, you are gonna make your cous-cous really happy.

the secret is in the spices, but it's not easy to duplicate.

I just enjoyed a niiiiiiiiiiice big salad of mixed bitter greens, garlic, chopped lo-fat/lo-sodium turkey breast lunch meat, cherry tomatoes and a crumble of feta, topped with a tablespoon of light vinegrette and a squirt of lemon juice, plus fresh black pepper.

It was good, but I guess I got the seasoning right on accident.

For Lunch today:
Romaine/Field Greens/Baby Spinach salad with sunflower seeds, carrots and topped with some low fat ginger sesame dressing (link )
1 piece of whole wheat toast with peanut butter
1 HUGE orange

Today was no doubt my best diet day in a while. This morning I had a mushroom & spinach omelet & whole wheat toast. Dinner was a huge victory for me... I actually went to McDonald's and didn't get a thing for myself! Breaking that addiction has been the hardest part for me so far and I feel like I finally did it. I didn't feel like cooking though, so I had a big, colorful salad and some cottege cheese with wheat crackers. I feel great!

Yum, warm 'nana-bread, (with bits of dark, melty chocolate toooo? ; )

The last thing I ate was a boneless, skinless chicken breast, tossed with sea salt, fresh pepper, garlic, dijon and a little smear of light cream-cheese.

Effective, but far from an adventure in culinary delight-ery--as was my incredibly lip-smackin' weekend with my gourmet in-laws.

Checking this thread always makes me hungry. Chocolate in your banana bread? I'm going to borrow that idea.

So far....coffee and, more coffee. Coming very soon....oatmeal and some strawberries.

The thought of in-laws always helps suppress my appetite!

I just realized I really need to start eating better breakfasts than making a fast food run after dropping the kids off at school. I didn't know how many calories there were in my Spicy Chicken Sandwich (with added cheese and tomato). I detest cereal, yogurt, and oatmeal. This is going to be one of my big challenges.
