"We are what we eat", yup, it's true, so on that note, I thought I'd dedicate a thread to give each other a peak into the nibblin' habits of each other.
I just finished dinner, which consisted of:
-One skinless turkey breast, squirted with lemon juice, seasoned with garlic powder, a lil sea salt and fresh ground pepper, then I tossed it in a about a teaspoon of dijon mustard. Pretty tasty.
-One turnip, raw, (plain, I know, but I love that earthy crunch).
-Half a Pink Lady apple for "dessert", (MAN I LOVE those things!)
How 'bout you guys?

Last thing I ate was breakfast. Oatmeal with some Splenda, a smidge of brown sugar, and dried cranberries. Yummm....
Also, so jealous of the Pink Lady. Those are my favorite, but they're out of season and impossible to get here now!

Goal: lose the belly fat! My problem area. First goal: 120lbs - MET 2nd goal: 116lbs - MET 3rd goal: 112lbs ish with more muscle definition
Realizing I can't change the way my body stores fat and have a noticeable belly during the day (pic was morning with light breakfast after workout) I will work on making a stronger core to counter the pooch a bit

I like chicken and eat lots of it.. so.. I'm chicken? thank god I don't eat a lot of pig then lol
hm I should get pretzels, other than the salt, they are pretty healthy and so satisfying as "junk food".
What I had last, I just went to the market and treated myself. Got delish maple cream yogourt (from Danone) at 110 calories and 4g protein! It was amazing.
I love Quebec, we have lots of maple syrop products and flavored foods!

I have started two new blogs, one to follow my running and a Quest to a Marathon at blog.262quest.com and one to follow my weight loss at blog.2big.org, please check them out.
I am an IT professional / Developer which means I sit in front of a computer most of the day. This means very little exercise and plenty of time to eat.
I decided at the first of the year that I was going to lose weight. I started by changing my eating habits and started walking.
I did so for about a month and then added some weight lifting and started to run a little bit.
I have so far lost 29 lbs in just over 3 months and would like to lose just over another 50 lbs by the end of the year.
I have started running quite a bit more and am training to run the Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta on July 4th (10k)
I need all the encouragement I can get because to do this I am getting up every morning during the week at 4:30 to go running. With a wife and kids this is really the only time that I can consistently do what I need to do.
I am driven, but at times get a bit discouraged because I don't have anybody to work out with or run with.
All in All, I know I can do it, I just have to remember that when I don't do so well, it is in the past and what matters is going forward.
A more up to date thread on me: http://www.traineo.com/14_2366_0.html

Hot fudge Sundae from McDonald's.........
YES I DID!!!
No, I didn't eat MD, I had Baked Salmon and Dirty Rice for dinner, it was T-Ball night and my son won his game, so I had to celebrate with him. I have one maybe every couple months so I don't feel bad in the least. If I don't have it occasionally I would never last on this life style change.

I had a bite of 4 different kind of cheesecakes.. well a couple of bites to probably equate eating a whole one
I know bad bad but including my workout for the day, I didn't really go over.. but didn't have quite a deficit. Since I did so good all morning, what I had this evening won't cause gain... probably won't cause loss either but it was good and I didn't have any for months!
Ugh I hate having people over for dinner. My mom pulls out all this yummy stuff.

Last thing I ate was a post-workout breaky consisting of two 100-calorie bars, ('cause I have PMS and they're yummy and that's important when a girl gets whiny), with a breakdown of:
Protein: 20 grams
Carbs: 12 grams
Fat: 6 grams
Fiber: 17 grams
Plus my morning vitamins and loads of H20 of course.

One Year 19 Lbs lost.
For December 07 to December 08 the job is to lose another 17 lbs.
-- Coming up for nearly a year of Traineo. 22 lbs lost, 13 to go!
What a year! I want to thank Traineo and it's members, and my doctors and friends, and gym, and my walking and running training partner -- my dog -- who all have have been a big part of my recovery from a bad case of pneumonia last August, from high blood pressure in May and June, and support through herniated cervical discs in July August and the present.
Somehow, its been possible to keep the faith and keep going through the neck and arm pain, but even on some of those bad pain days, getting the exercise at the gym, on a C25K run, on a bike ride, or in the surf helps make it bearable.
A year ago -- at least sports-wise, for life is altogether another thing -- I was losing my sense of identity as a surfer and windsurfer, gaining a sense of identity as a cyclist, a runner, 9 months later reentering the surf, losing my ability to ride ... things came and went between hospital visits.
At times, all those things were stripped away -- and just to be able to walk down the block was an accomplishment. There were recoveries and sometimes just advil and bullish efforts.
It's good to be back in the surf and on the bike sometimes, neck/shoulder/arm pain notwithstanding.
My thoughts go out to all those Traineo members out there fighting their own health and spiritual battles...you know we are here in this small way.

Hmmm., I just got back from a 40 minute 'C25K run' with some big ole hill repeats in the beginning and the end, so I was ready for . . .
Spinach tortellini, chicken sausage and homemade organic tomato & garlic sauce. A swig of Zinfandel (not my favorite but fine for a change) a flax/borage/fish oil capsule and a wee dram of Macallan 12 for me Scottish ancestors.

I have a little place I know in Bethpage NY that does steamed buns with braised pork filling, and it's right near the mountain biking trails. Beats a clif bar any day. The two go hand in hand very nicely.

i Slappy
I'm a slappy geek (IT Systems Analyst at work, Gadget lover at play) and ready to do something to change my state of slappiness...time to de-slappify myself.
Unfortunately, my love for all things tech is, by it's nature, a very sedentary lifestyle which has lead me down the path of being slappy (overweight/obese, in case you were curious). After having three different doctors strongly urge me to lose weight and a blood pressure reading of 190/110...this new path became an absolute must.
I've joined the Weight Watcher ranks and found it to be a great gateway to my 'lifestyle change'. It has been a tremendous help to reducing my calories, while helping get in my daily intake of fruits, vegetables, calcium, water, omega-3's, etc...
As for fitness, I have been using my eliptical trainer at home because running outdoors was a little harsh on my knees. This has helped to ease my hand off the TiVo remote and onto the home exercise equipment. I now watch digitally recorded shows while huffing and puffing. =P
I look forward to meeting new and interesting people on here and finding new 'thinspirations' and motivators.

Breakfast:
3 whole eggs scrambled, topped with Crushed Red Pepper
1/2 Cup Raw Oats, 2 packets Splenda, 1 tspn Cinnamon.
16 oz Coffee, 1packet sweetner, 1/2 tspn non-dairy creamer
I've been going Ground Hog Day lately and trying to eat the same breakfast every day. It makes things easier for me and I don't get sick or bored of foods very easily (which got me in my overweight predicament to begin with).
