I found a rather expensive place to buy steak, but they are AMA certified. Here are the numbers:

5oz steaks, they are 5oz each, and work out to paying ~$13/lb

Have you tried them yet?

At 40-some bucks that's like only 4 dollars a steak, which really isn't too bad.

No, not the AMA version, but I have had KC steaks before. They are high quality beef, but those would have had way more fat and were much larger. These came recommended by a friend I met through NutriSystem. I am ordering them for summer cook outs as they will keep me from having to cook veggie burgers and Fat Free hot dogs while everyone else is having burgers and ribs. I am the grill cook, so having something I like on the grill will be really nice. I should have them by the end of May, I will post back with my review.

Well I ordered and had surf and turf for my dinner tonight to mark my 4 week anniversary on NutriSystem and 20 pounds lost (5% drop in BF%) mark.

I had the steak and 100 calories worth of steamed snow crab legs (two sets of legs), in place of my normal NS dinner entree. It had the same amount of calories, but because of the sea food, the sodium was about twice what a normal entree contains.

This may put me under 30 gms of fiber today, but I will still be in the mid 20's.

I think the steak was excellent. I added a little garlic and mushrooms. Glad I got them. My wife's response was that she liked it, but would take a regular steak next time. 5oz and low fat was a little small for her liking I think. But the steaks were still very juicy, and thick enough that I could fully cook it and still have a pink center. I am guessing on Cinco de Mayo I will be cooking another for me and cooking a nice sized rib eye for her.

Dinner:
1 KC AMA Steak (5oz)
2 sets of snow crab legs steamed
1 cup green beans steamed
1.5 oz of home made honey wheat bread
Salad (2 cups romain, 1/8th cup diced onions, 1/8th cup diced mushrooms, 2Tbsp reduced fat dressing, 1tsp shredded parm cheese)

528 Calories
102 from Fat
11g fat
3g sat fat
45g carbs
9g fiber
59g protein
182mg Chol
1474mg Sodium (Only down side)

But my daily total for sodium looks like it will be ~2500mg, which is not bad for a special day and is actually lower than my normal days which has been ~2900mg/day on average over the last 4 weeks.
